Yeti must be clearing cap space. Some of their ambassadors are leaving. Anne Galyean said she is leaving, Dee Tidwell says former trainer of the Yeti squad. Hoping that Grubby comes back for a year or two.

Enve is no longer a sponsor of the Orbea team

Ibis has cut Lew, Evan G and Julie Duvert this week.

Next week should be LIT!
No doubt it sounds like they are freeing up some of their team money but I do think its worth mentioning most of their ambassadors are basically paid customers. Obviously Richie has a very legitimate salary. The rest I'd wager "get by", but its "live simply" (or get another job) kind of money.

The rest this side of Nate Hills, who has done a fabulous job with his content, are *very* likely not even getting free stuff.

I think the real irony is a lot of the ambassadors could go next door and pay retail for a Commencal and come out ahead. LOL.

He has mentioned a couple of times over the last week or so about issues with the AMA.
Maybe they heard all of his comments on things like the downtime podcast where he turned around and laughed at how easy it was to be able to ride if he just had a UK licence upgrade for international competition and applied to ride. I know it has got the backs up of a lot of the US based riders who have to go through qualification to get there

Talk is cheap, but the real question is: What's happening with Team Robot?

Máxime Chapuis is off specialized factory.
Cody Kelley says goodbye to Giro. Everything is lining up for Anneke and Cody to go back to Specialized Factory, OR, Greg Callahan to join his cousin on the new enduro

These thank you and goodbye posts sure do seem contractual.

I feel badly for riders who just want to ride and race but who have to keep up social media views and follows as well.

Then again, it opens up new ways of making money outside of competing.

If you want to not only be supported but especially earn a living as an athlete, then you've got to play along. Bikes are a business just like anything else. In the end, for the people in suits that pull levers and push buttons it's all about dollars.

I don't understand feeling bad for them. No one is forcing them to ride bikes for a living. There are thousands of people out there that just ride, race and have regular jobs.
This is Not A Good Take (tm), and just displays a lack of empathy on your part. I'm baffled that I need to point that out. Maybe you can toss these professionals looking for a ride some bootstraps while you're at it.

Maybe what I'm saying is that the media requirements are different than when magazines were the primary advertising vehicle.

But, yeah, a capable young athlete who isn't necessarily adept at curating views and followers on social media should just give up and go work at the convenience store with you. Makes sense.

Legitimate in what way? He isn't a certified winner? He is a certified DRUGS CHEAT. Just like GRAVES is. Is Yeti destining to become the US Postal of Mountain biking? It sure does seem like it. Dirty cheats glossed over by the EWS as they don't want the smear.

LOL.

This entire post shows how little you know about the sport and little time you've spent between the tape.

I've been in the grey on the Richie/Graves thing the whole time. In fact, if anything, I've been super critical of Richie, mostly because his apology wasn't all that accountable.

That said its 100% undeniable he's an incredibly gifted and talented bike handler with the grit and work ethic to back it up. There is no "system" of doping at Yeti. I'd bet every dollar I have on that one.

The only shady things they do is arrange shuttles that may or may not be all that legit at localish races. Beyond that, they are just like any team out there.

Put your tin foil hat on elsewhere. Richie and Graves took something that might have helped them a little bit. Systemic doping like Postal is an entirely different thing. You are comparing a swiss army knife to a bazooka.

The failed test was in 2018. He won twice in 2019. I'd say that makes him a certified winner.

Haley Batten off Cliff Pro Team.
Anybody hear anything from Sam Gaze? He was supposed to make the announcement the same day but I haven’t seen anything

Joe Breeden off of Intense Racing UK / Saddleback. Mentions that the team is done as well. He doesn't seem to have a team lined up for next year, which is too bad.

Perhaps Intense is pulling back support for teams like this and investing more in a big name rider in Enduro

Sam Gaze is heavily reported to have joined Mathieu Van der Pol's Corendon-Circus team.

I took his comment "and I am sad to see the team come to an end." to mean the team was ending. Perhaps he meant the team as we knew it this year with him on it.

Saddleback is a distributor is it not? Maybe they are not doing Intense anymore and if memory serves me correct all their other bikes are road.

Saddleback is the Intense distributor and I have heard nothing in the way of that changing, what I can speak to, is Saddleback is also our partner/distributor in the UK for Troy Lee Designs, and a fantastic partner at that. The team was funded solely through saddleback, a monumental effort, we applaud their efforts the last couple years. As for TLD and Saddleback, its business as usual and continued growth.

Tell me about it. The sense of entitlement, so conveniently displayed by some in this thread, is just one factor that makes this industry such a challenging place to work, especially in marketing. Everyone thinks they're owed something. People can't seem to grasp that this is a business just like anything else. Unless you're a top-tier athlete, who will legitimately help sell product via racing on the world-stage or (some might say more importantly) via a big social media following, you can't expect a company willingly take a loss to pay you to ride your bike and give you free stuff.
