Thanks for that bit of info...well I seem to also just be unable to use IG. Please ignore my previous post...I found my own answer to my ignorance. Really hoping this AG and Neko move is just a rumor though.

Or just get the current Polygon DH bike and then repaint+rebrand for 2019 season.
Meanwhile, the 29er Marin DH bike gets slowly developed with feedback and testing c/o Atherton Racing, proto'd late in the season, then released to the public in 2020.
Has Atherton Racing done this before? Yes, when the Athertons moved to GT (see Fury circa 2013, where both Athertons won in Fort William, see also GT Sanction 650b).

and also with commencal!
Edit: So its not that implausible that they are going that route again. Or, that a brand might want them for this reason...
I recall AG joining Martin on the Mob as partners rather than as athlete and manager, you get the impression Aaron learned a lot in his years away from Trek and probably doesn’t need a manager.

Rich was defiantly his Manager/Agent when he joined Trek.

I know that, but I’m talking about what he learned after he left trek, when he was at Specialized and decided to leave them to form his own team. About 6 years after he joined trek.

I noticed when Gwin posted a pic of his mclaren in front of a strip mall, Martin "Liked" a comment in there by a user, stating something to the effect of "dude, you need to work on your photo skills, in front of a strip mall, really?"...so what do the savvy Vital internet detectives read into that?

Reece Wilson was chatting on the Downtime Podcast about his new team for 2019... Apparently a brand that’s been around for a while, on a team with two other (three total) young riders, and full factory support, and a factory (he’s traveling to the factory in December).
So... Canyon? (He’s been posting a bit with Troy on insta, and they’re already good mates apparently), Intense? Trek? The factory bit would rule out brands like YT as they don’t have a factory you could visit do they?
He also just got a road bike from the same brand (and just sold his Orbea road bike, which I’d imagine he would have kept if the brand he was going to wasn’t providing a new brand correct road bike), so it would make sense if it’s a brand that make road bikes too (more evidence for Canyon or Trek?).

All those brands have HQ warehouses where bikes are assembled and other work is done, but none of them really have what you could call factories. Yes, Intense/Steber weld prototypes at their HQ and Trek does paint/prototyping, not sure about Canyon... but the actual production frames come from overseas. YT definitely have an HQ in Germany like Canyon.

i like the canyon theory. Too many riders on Trek still unless Kade and/or Hatton move on?
I wonder if the Kate Courtney rumors are actually true (leaving Spez for Scott).
Take this with as big a grain of salt as you want (it is the rumors thread after all):
Last Saturday Kate got celebrated at the MTB Museum/Hall of Fame in Fairfax, big deal, local rider is the effin' WORLD CHAMP. She did a ride in the morning with the Norcal kids, there were ~50 of them, Red Bull showed up with one of their DJ trucks, Lagunitas was pouring free beer, free tacos, face painting etc. It was awesome.
Specialized had one pop-up tent with her World Champs bike on display and that was it.
Their HQ is a 2-hour drive from here.
Edit for clarity: It would have been easy for Specialized to make it a bigger deal, especially in the town that many consider the birthplace of mountain biking.
I heard something today... Word is that the asking price is 500,000 to be title sponsor for the Mob... I would assume that to be an annual number.. That seems like a huge number for a company like intense... But, if the Atherton/Trek split is happening, it would seem most likely we see Aaron, Neko , and Angel on Sessions next year...
The only way I could understand Intense being in the running financially is if there was something like a percentage ownership stake on the table or above average royalties. Gwin is a big-picture guy, but would Jeff Steber even consider something like that?
Who knows though. I'm a giant boob when it comes to business and none of us really know Intense's financial statements
Thomas estaque on a rockshox fork, maybe moving to valnord team 2019?

I think that is Hugo Frixtalon with the ION trousers he rode ION last season
But it was posted by Thomas Ramade no? I’d have thought it was Hugo Frixtalon and Thomas Ramade in the photo, with Thomas Estaque tagged because he was there that day? Could be wrong though.
Obviously I’m guessing but it seems to me that Claudio is stepping back after his brain injury. Maybe he just doesn’t feel up to managing a team right now?
