TPL Racing Added a reply to 2021 Mountain Bike Team Rumors
11/2/2020 6:50am Maybe Unior is pulling out because it doesn’t make sense that Devinci would develop a new high pivot bike and not continue to race world cups. Perhaps Dak is waiting to hear if Devinci has a new co sponsor for 2021?

TPL Racing Added a reply to Best and Worst World Cup DH Tracks?
4/5/2020 2:55pm Ive read that MSA is a very popular destination with the racers and teams so I think its staying on the schedule. Whistler is building a WC downhill course over on creekside? so Id like to see them race there.

12/1/2019 10:35am On this topic humans concern much more than the animals in hand to hand with animal I will win I’m very confident of that it’s humans that are my biggest concern when riding alone a big cat can’t pick up a rock and beat me with we humans are the worst!

11/29/2019 12:52pm My wife is always concerned about animal attacks so went to the local ranger station and posed this exact question. They said and I quote “it’s the two legged predators you really need to worry about” We smiled awkwardly....and left

11/29/2019 12:45pm I'm more worried about a homeless person leaving a shopping cart on a blind landing than I am about getting attacked by a wild animal.

11/12/2019 6:44am I think it's more likely that Richie Rude joins Intense (Factory Racing not Collective) instead of Pure Agency (Specialized). He's bros with AG and also trains under Tom Schumlick. This will also give him a chance to race World Cup DH as well. Orbea had high expectations for 2019 but few decent results. Are they revamping the team again? Primoz Strancar, Team Manager, has been there for less than a year, I think, and they have 2 riders under 23 years old. Youn Deniaud seems headed elsewhere (he's in GFORT now).

TPL Racing Added a reply to Three-Quarter Lids: Gimmick or Cool?
11/12/2019 6:28am I’ve never understood why motorcrossers and mountain bike folks think that a full face helmet should be able to sustain multiple hits over a season or seasons and still perform. Once a helmet has made any kind of contact with the ground it’s time to replace it. In motorcycle Roadracing we are required to bring our helmet and leathers to...

11/11/2019 7:22am If you live long enough you eventually realize assholes are just part of life. Often they’re not even aware they’re being assholes. That includes me. Every sport or passion has its assholes but overall I feel the level of assholism is pretty low in mountain biking. I’d say 10% or less people are actually assholes on the trail while 25%...

11/7/2019 4:29pm After a recent crash resulting in facial injuries and scarring, I for one am ready to rock a full-face helmet on the vast majority of my rides. Consider the media onboard.

11/6/2019 12:07pm Heheheh. A kook yeah. Until you land on your chin or get out of shape and take a branch to the nose or mouth. It depends on the riders idea of safety. I’m a kook.

11/6/2019 12:00pm I see the 3/4 lids as natural progression and a step towards the mass adoption of lightweight breathable full face helmets . Speeds are going up, riders are challenging rougher terrain so it makes perfect sense to protect your face. Am I ready to be an early adopter? Nope. When I see a full face helmet on a trail ride...

10/8/2019 6:29am I was at the Whistler bike park this past Saturday and I saw Remi Gauvin riding what looked to be a raw aluminum DH prototype that was awfully similar looking to the new Slayer... Do you guys think they will come back to DH racing or are they just designing another park bike?!

9/19/2019 6:04pm I think one of the more interesting things will be if there are any teams that switch to Ohlins... Loic and Finn's suspension looked pretty damn good compared to everyone else.

8/24/2019 7:33am 3 of them have factory rides, Jameson, Cruz and Shandro. If Intense and Devinci are smart they give Seth and Patrick rides for next year.

TPL Racing Added a reply to DeVinci Spartan Alu Problems
2/20/2019 6:20pm I’ve had quite a few Devinci’s both aluminum and carbon and the only noise issue I’ve ever had is when the shock pivots get dry. I regularly remove the shock, clean the bolts, regrease them, reassemble and torque them back to spec. I did have to cut down the dropper seat post hose on my current bike as it was...

1/11/2019 12:18pm I believe people have then tendency to forget that some of the World Cup people who are not on upper shelf contracts still have full time jobs in the off-season, in order to afford all that racing that we all love. Anyone remember how Tracey Hannah worked two years in a mine in Australia so she can pay back all the money she spent in one pretty successful (but not financially backed enough) season??? Look for an interview with Miranda and you will learn how she works full time in a bike shop. Before being on the big Specialized team...
