Hey guys!!! I have a question about the new spartan aluminum. I have a new 19 Spartan and I love it but a couple of friends had trouble with theirs 18 Spartans. The issue starts with some noise when hitting high speed bumps, I think it might come from the dropper post cable but my friend said that his bike then showed a crack on the rocker link and a lot of play on the rear end. His rocker link got replaced by warranty but it seems the problem is still there. Have anyone heard of that before? I would hate to have to replace my Spartan!!

I'm no Devince expert or anything, but the Sound is most likely the seat post cable. It's amazing how many companies don't really care about a bit of that on you're end. If your frame doesn't have those built in guide tubes, then you're stuck with jamming bits of foam tubing around the cable and inside the frame. Other than that, Just check out the rear end for any side play. Just go full Vital G-Out and either let out all the air or remove the spring and then feel for any side play in any part of the suspension. Other than that, just shred it because it's solid and new and keep an eye on that link.

I forgot to mention. If it's loose it's bad. AND if binds it's bad.

I’ve had quite a few Devinci’s both aluminum and carbon and the only noise issue I’ve ever had is when the shock pivots get dry. I regularly remove the shock, clean the bolts, regrease them, reassemble and torque them back to spec. I did have to cut down the dropper seat post hose on my current bike as it was too long and rattled inside the frame.
