Just hate religion, especially in sport and politics. It sets a really bad example to kids that it's okay to believe the junk in the Bible and ultimately it's how a moronic narcissist ends up running the US.

Gwin thanking God after those wins a couple years ago was a low point in mountain biking for me. Not as bad as the post race interviews at supercross, that's vomit inducing.

European perspective I guess.

Having personally known the man and traveled with him, he actually is one of the most honest and down to earth people out there. I am devoutly non-religious and he is obviously very. And he respects anyone's choice to believe what they want as much as the rest of us.

To hate religion is one thing, to hate a person for their beliefs is entirely different. He has not caused any harm to anyone based on beliefs and has never tried to change ones beliefs.

I think if someone is trying to force their beliefs on someone else (telling riders that they will be a better rider because of religious beliefs or that they are wrong as a person or less of a person because of their beliefs) there is reason to be upset.

Religion in politics is one thing, stating a thank you to God, or whoever you believe in is entirely different. Your actions are what make you who you are, and he has never done anything to harm another human, and is just enjoying the fruits of exceptionally hard work and dedication to his job and his craft.

i hate it and the hypocrites as much as anyone but i still don't see the issue with gwin working hard, being successful and buying a car. what exactly is hypocritical about that? sounds like you're assuming that he's not a good person just because of his beliefs which is honestly more hypocritical than anything i've seen gwin put out in public.

i've also met and talked with him and guess what? he didn't try to sell me a bible or join a church - he was just super chill and cool and happy to be there supporting a local (to me, not him. he had a 5-6 hour drive to get here) grassroots fundraising event for a fellow (female, in case that's also an issue for you) WC racer.

I was not a Gwin fan at all. It happenend that I worked with him for about 4 days twice last year and I have to admit that he is very professional and down to earth. He treats everyone the same and takes a lot of time for fans, selfies, autographs and all that comes along on a racing weekend.

I also don´t like religion, but I think it is not up to anyone to judge someone because she/he belives in something. If you want to put it down at least walk up to him and put it in his face.

Also I don´t give a rat´s fart what car he or any one else gets. As long as it is not my wife and I have to pay for it I don´t care at all.

It's all part of the hypocrisy of the religious. After all Jesus was basically a hippie with blessed are the poor virtues etc. That's how a true follower would apparently behave.

I also don't think you can be an influential sportsman and openly display your mind virus affliction. It's not good for kids to see that shit, especially in the US where the half the population would still vote for a guy who had a 'relationship' with 14 year old girl simply due to being in the same mind virus club.

Anyway I agree, enough of this.

If someone can explain why the guy who's going to beat Nino this year is riding for Stevens hasn't been picked up by a major brand I'd love to know.

User pyromaniac said back on Page 10 that MvdP was moving to Canyon as of January 1st for a three year contract. We will have to see how that plays into his current domination of the CX circuit, and maybe his future battles with Nino!

In an interview in Vojo magazine (nl) - MvdP confirmed he will be competing at the European World Cup races in 2018. He says he really wants to win a World Cup. So we'll get to see him battle Nino.

He also has his sights set on Tokyo in 2020.

I think they are sponsors for the whole Specialized MTB team, I remember seeing rotor cranks on Kate Courtney's new Epic a few months back.

Yeah, Rotor has been equipping the XC bikes for the whole of 2017 if i'm not mistaken, but the DH/Enduro guys did ride Sram cranks this year i think.
