11/26/2025 12:22pm @Downtime Podcast Been busy and have sporadically been able to follow the thread. I haven’t listened to the DT podcast. Haven’t listened to Brines debrief. But I do know this. MF asked/paid Chris to provide a platform. Chris did that. Jumping on Chris for not asking the right questions is crap. MF was on the back foot from the company crisis. Chris didn’t put him there. MF had every opportunity to at least clear the air and admit wrongdoing. At any point during the pod MF could have said “Let me say this about that”. MF had an open mic...

11/26/2025 12:20pm You're very entitled to your own opinion, but I didn't hear the same contradictions you did. I've re-listened multiple times this morning and I still can't hear it the way you have. I heard Markus say they knew they were facing tough times but weren't expecting the PE firm to get to a point where they aren't willing to inject cash. The Fire Sale was an effort to get through that specific period without having to ask for more cash. That failed and then they were told 'no more'. As for your previous point, it's not exactly clear to me...

11/21/2025 10:46am It’s not supposed it’s in the rule book. Teams have to be registered by Nov 15th including who is on the team. No set date for when the teams get announced by the UCI. In the past it’s been a month after the deadline but I would guess it wouldn’t be until Jan 1 when current contracts expire.

11/7/2025 11:13am A response to a post I left on the PB thread... " you are correct. We had an entire organization of employees based in the US that were ready to keep this brand alive. Most of us have been there for 5 plus years and made North America over 50 % of YTs business. Instead Markus choose to screw us over and will try and reopen with all new staff and under his control. We are all at peace with it. We took care of so many customers the best we could. US was constantly bottle necked from YTG. We...

11/5/2025 10:07am Their enduro team was done last year but they graciously kept me on board for this year with my contract having another year on it. Sounds obvious of course, but the bike industry isn't always so giving. The DH team took me in and I had a blast all year long, which was the main reason for doing DH at the end of the year. I just wanted to hang out with the team some more, and who wouldn't take the chance to race World Cup DH while they can. As for next year, stay tuned.

11/1/2025 5:55pm From a commenter on PB: “ Everyone needs the hear the facts. Markus flossman is an egotistical freak and scammer. After insolvency there was a handshake deal for YT USA to purchase exclusive brand rights and be independently operated. Truth is Markus couldn’t stand the idea of US branch not being under his control. Continued to shoot over shitty deals, 1 year contracts, and insane royalty payments. We as a staff chose not to sign up for a shitty deal that would ultimately kill us anyways. Everyone thinks private equity killed this brand. That’s wrong. Markus single handedly killed YT...

10/21/2025 12:56pm I disagree. Rampage has been around longer than social media. These guys have been throwing themselves cliffs before social media was a thing, and still be throwing themselves off cliffs even if it hadn't become a thing. Injuries have always been a thing, whether they are small, significant or life altering, but the fact of the matter is there HAVEN'T been any deaths. How many other extreme (or less extreme) competitions can claim a zero fatality rate in 24 years of existence? I'm not saying things can't be made safer, but I'm also not sure what the answer is. If...

10/21/2025 9:10am As one who had a 'career' in freeride and spent that career working to get into Rampage, I have a lot to say about Rampage, its evolution, and its current state. I will try to keep it short. The professionalization of Rampage over the last 25 years has made for a better event. Riders and builders are better paid. It has resulted in more coverage, more reward, and the ability to build a professional career around the event. Is it perfect? No. But it is pretty darn good. Is there room for improvement? Yes. Has it gotten safer for athletes...

10/20/2025 10:01am Hi all, I'm the 'Gosling' being referenced in the Bikeradar article. I had meetings in Les gets with five teams, YT being one and I'll start by saying that Gunnar Franke (Team Manager) is one of the best guys in the pits running a great team with awesome riders and staff. However we (Nukeproof) don't have the budget to go from 'no team' to one of the best, and highest budget teams in the pits when today we are not even selling any bikes. I also feel that we are not the type of brand that wants or needs one...
