On flat ground maybe... Anywhere where you are considering a 24x52 gearing you will not come anywhere close to 4mph walking speed.

It's very possible the sponginess comes from the pawls deforming... They are much more perpendicular to the two rings than the orientation of a pawl in a standard freehub in order for the compression force (through the wedge mecahnism) is high enough for the pawl not to slip. That angle of orientation means even a small deformation means a relatively big rotation of the two rings relative to each other (compared to a standard pawl) and the higher compressive forces on the pawls also mean they deform more (giving even more of a relative rotation between the two). Therefore the...

If they watched too much Paul Aston they would have given it 500mm chainstays as well instead of the 430ish that it has now. I used to like the guy but insisting that every single brand (except maybe Banshee?) has wrong bike geometry turned me a bit off from his channel. sorry for the OT

That's a great point, Primoz. I don't think almost anyone could tell a difference between cranks, unless we're talking about a complete wet noodle vs. the stiffest crank in the world. I think the biggest differentiator for cranks is strength, both in terms of impact resistance to rocks or the like and also in terms of pure load strength under a big compression like a jump or turn. I think any crank is going to "feel" like a Saint crank until you land a 50 foot jump to flat. That's when the differences start to show up. That's certainly a...

Lugs and straight tubes also don't require welding. And don't require any procedures to straighten the frame as it can be cured at room temperature.

Side note: Interesting how there's basically only 3 Horst link vertical shock* bikes left on the market and all three of them were designed at least in part by Dan Roberts. Scott Gambler, RAAW DH and the Frameworks Prototype *fixed

Lew has come here and responded to posts in the past. Doesn't really seem like a twat. I'm kind of shocked at the reaction to the OF helmet deal, considering that the biggest helmet sponsors in the industry have probably been way more harmful to the health of humanity (sugary, caffeinated fizzy drinks) than a website that has helped to flatten/democratize the extremely exploitative hierarchy of the porn industry.
