ngl had to unfollow him and Aston because of the whole „this and only this is the best and everything else is garbage“ Can the bike industry do better? Sure, but I don’t want to be bombarded all the time by how shit everything is, I’ve got the normal news for that. also, Genius is up on binkpike. As expected from Scott there are a lot of cables, and everything is internal. Perhaps they enjoy working on their bike so much that they designed thru headset routing to provide themselves with hours of enjoyment to perform a task that'd usually take a few minutes. Or maybe they're just sadists?

10/18/2022 8:30am Are you speaking of Reed Boggs or Kurt Sorge ? All of the others have downhill bike but some choose to bring a smaller bike (Storch -> Propain Spindrift, Rheeder -> small Commencal FRS, etc...) And it doesn't seems to stop them from beeing on the podium with their bike !

Semenuk mentioned a while back that he was having a hard time choosing between Rampage and the Lake Superior Performance Rally (LSPR)...looks like he didn't choose, he's doing both!? BTW, those bar hugging Sram brake levers... Is there enough space to mount 3rd party shifters and dropper remotes next to them and have a decent range of adjustability? EDIT: ah, pointed that out in the original post already... Ignore me. Forcing people to ride matched brakes and drivetrain is a bad move...

I almost voted for "All cables ran external, just like the good ol days", but then I remembered all the crusty, corroded cables and housing from exposed cables running every which way on bikes. "All lines external [except droppers] in full-length housing" might have got a vote.

Not going to go off on headset routing like I have before, but an experience this week, it took two people to push a fork up through the brake hoses while trying to also keep the hoses from twisting around the steerer or each other while also not having enough room to see down through it all. Most companies have not left enough room for the hoses to flex properly around the steerer or through the top cap so you often end up with resistance when turning as it's rubbing somewhere.... For no perceivable advantage until you hit 45km/h on...

Yea but we have the Spur and Element with proper cable routing... this commencal headset routing bike is is an instant ‘no’ from me.
