"Short stems provide stability" how is this true? I believed that they eased/quickened up steering, useful for slack bikes that fought steering inputs (and flopped more readily if you steered too much). If you didn't widen your bars when shortening your stem, it shifted weight back a little more and allowed you to get further back. Is part 2 out? Wondering if it ever mentions that as reach and stack height increase, flickability decreases. For example, who goes for the long frame option (when they can fit on small) and increases travel (to 140+) on their DJ bikes and prefers...

After watching this vid, I'm fairly convinced that bar width is connected to hip width and mobility. Those with narrow hips and decent width bars like Ratboy at 2:10 look like they are so free to move on the bike, and in a comfy place. Those with the bars a lot lower than the hip and standing kind of tall, like Gee, look kind of awkward on the bike.

They've got to program it and run a large enough batch to make the programming time worth it (can take ~8 hours to program the machine). Time is money with those machines. If it were a softer material, like a 7075 without a temper, they...

7/17/2015 2:43pm Anyone remember watching a video where a mtn biker exits a cave mouth that is on practically a vertical cliff face, and rolls down the side of it like it were a vert ramp. The stone looked similar to southern Utah, but cannot confirm that the video actually took place there. Looking to watch it again and share with others.
