8/10/2025 7:34pm Not a 1:1 analogy, but in terms of " virtual fragmentation with arbitrary distinctions between products," that was GM's bread and butter for 75+ years. Cadillac, Buick, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, and Chevrolet were almost identical vehicles with minor part and trim changes to make people feel like they were buying into an entirely different brand. So that method works: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_Motors_companion_make_program Now, on the one hand, you could say that's what every bike company does with trim levels (i.e. SLX, XT, XTR) but I think GM was doing something sneakier than that. The whole brand and product name changed. More like PON's...

7/30/2025 7:28am One of the reasons I bought a Raaw. Seat tube length and dropper insertion is not great on the Banshee and was worried compared to my Firebird I had previously. After getting used to a 240mm dropper post, there is no coming back. Riding Mount7, BC and all these steep trails around, you really appreciated having the saddle out of the way.

7/23/2025 8:55pm I mean, if they make World Cup tracks more like motocross tracks, maybe there’ll be less skin suits? Oh wait…

7/17/2025 8:31am It's nuts how close the men's elite standings are right now considering that Jackson won four of the first five and two thirds of the races so far. After Loic won in Andorra, it's only 150 or so points separating him and Jackson, which is less than the points for one win.

7/15/2025 3:25pm I've been fretting over stuffing a Frankenstein'd wheel with 150mm spacing into a standard boost frame for the past week. Between having a bright, trustworthy industry individual tell me not to sweat +/-1(or 2) mm at the axle, and reading your comments, I feel not so worried 🤣🤣🤣

7/14/2025 8:29pm Weirdest thing about it? Wheel goes in there like it’s a perfect fit. Previous and current generation Sight FWIW. And for the record, he doesn’t tell people to do this.

7/14/2025 5:22am I actually didn’t know they were progressive. This explains a lot though. I had an SLS Fox for a little bit and thought the bike was sluggish in certain situations. I preferred the Sprindex.
