I agree the new Impact Pros degrade to perfect. They don’t seem to degrade past that, I have been on a pair for two years rotating with a pair of freerider pros. I like the stiffness of the impact pros. The freeriders are slimmer, dry quicker and have a bit more pedal feel. They also work better on pedals with a bulge at the crank like one ups or boomslangs. I really like having both and rotating.

TRex Added a comment about press release Five Ten's Latest Freerider Shoes Are Made from Recycled Plastic Bottles

I've used both a bunch, and I feel there are a few things that are different between the two. Of course, the Sam Hill Impact is a bit heavier. The Freerider Pro is lighter, as well as slimmer. As far as the feel on the pedals, the Sam Hill Impact is stiffer right off the bat on the pedals. After 4 or 6 months, the Impacts feel how I want them to. The Impacts degrade from 'too stiff' for me to 'perfect' in that 4-6 month time frame. The Freerider Pro degrades less over time in my opinion, and it...

TRex Added a comment about press release Telemetry on Stock Bikes: Mondraker Introduces MIND

Perfect. A system that will tell 90% of riders to firm up their front suspension. Riders then complain about 'feedback', possibly quitting once they have a functional setup.

Disagree. I want the reviewer to do what he did here and pick the tires he wants on the individual bike or use what comes stock. A good reviewer should be able to differentiate the handling characteristics of the bike than those from the tire and express that to the reader. these bikes are suited for different terrain and use. Why should a tire set that is more beneficial to one bike be used on the other.

I would have to agree with this opinion most times, but I don't think it really applies here. If these bikes had tires from Michelin and Schwalbe, or Maxxis and Specialized, having the same tire might make sense. But these are both bikes with very, very, similar tires. They both came stock and were run with Maxxis tires. They both have EXO casings, so that's the same. They both have the MaxxTerra rubber, which in my mind makes the most important factor in rolling 'feel' the same. The tread patterns are also so similar. Rolling speed should in theory be...

Absolutely loved this episode. These guys are hilarious and touched on stuff that are constant points of discussion in my house, such as lack of DH tracks over here in Colorado, difficulties of making it big time for US riders, overall taming down of trails for the broader population of newbies.

Great. We're taking Pinkbike cast-offs over here now. What's next, you gonna hire Ferrentino now that Bike has shuttered (quietly praying for this)?

I’m gonna need to see some riding clips to make sure Teamrobot has still got the clout on MTB. Last I heard he bought a Volvo- and got a job as an insurance actuary or something (aka- he “fell off”)

TRex Added a comment about press release $4,099 - Does Marin's New Alpine Trail Carbon Throw Down the Gauntlet?

You do realize that for about $1000 more than the retail price of the frame you get a whole bike? I wouldn't complain about a non-piggyback shock at that price point. Good to get a base price low and let people upgrade what they see fit in future years.

And I should add that I'm 6'7"/2M so my angle on life is a bit different than most. I love the Deity dirt jump bars for their high-rise, but again being tall I match it to a longer 65mm Deity stem to get more hight with the proper roll and no shorter reach. And my XR has a crazy block of a bar riser and Pro Tapers.

I’ve never taken Lithium but a quick google search says it an anti depressant that can help bring people out of manic depression. Seems like a good name for a bike to me.
