I made the switch from riding only technical trails to only flow trails about 3 years ago and have never looked back. I have a customized Transition Double with a 400mm dropper post so I can pedal it to the top of U-Line for sessioning.

To be fair to the brakes, I don't think he's wrong. I run those and I hate the lever ergonomics, I think the bolts look like wood screws, the 'matchmaker' setup is terrible. But the power and fade resistance is phenomenal. The performance overshadows all the other stuff for me.

I'd imagine it will, but it's unlikely to fit the Z2 or Rhythm forks. Hopefully it's long enough to still use the 150mm and 160mm air shafts. Did something change about the EVOL air spring, or is it the same? Definitely bummed to not see air bleeders and a floating axle on this one, but GRIP 2 for the 34 is going to be awesome. Stoked for the bike help page to go live with 2021 parts lists and drawings... so many unanswered questions.

I'd skip the video and instead just add more hand gestures and pointing to your current explanation.

Not too much nerdery at all. I run my brake levers maybe slightly up from 'most' and I don't really change them. But I did go to one race on the Andorra WC track, and there I moved the levers more horizontal. It was a one time change, but that 30 second adjustment was awesome. I think that one time adjustment as opposed to always fiddling with stuff is very applicable to riders that might take a big trip to Whister, or big mountain stuff, where one time adjustment might work well compared to the 'back home' setup.

Could anyone say if that is a stock brake lever? I use those brakes and love them, but the lever reach adjuster is garbage. Did they just cut theirs off? It usually flops around and changes adjustment if you don't put some low strength or medium strength loctite on the threads.

Ronning must have been so happy to get off of that chap having Gary Fisher and onto the the Intense program a few years later. That bike sounded terrible.

My last bike (2018 Firebird 27.5) only had a water bottle mount on the underside of the downtube. Not sure what Pivot was thinking, I lost at least a dozen bottles and smashed my bottle cage about once a month. New bike is a Transition Patrol and it has a bottle cage inside the triangle. Crazy innovation by the team of scientists at Transition. Huge upgrade to my riding experience.

Skull valve caps. Can't afford? Dice or bullet ones are also good.

Some of these were said before, so I'll be quick. 1- Dropper post. There are lots of experienced riders on here that might take this for granted, but for your friend getting into the sport, significant other, nothing will matter more than eliminating some hesitation going down. 2- Tires. Not just DH casings, but to actually use soft, DH rubber...

True, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I mean, that's a great tire to copy, and this tire probably works just fine. Better than a press release that says: "Inspired by (literally any Kenda, ever)."

Offset eyelet bushings are an option too if you are insistent on a different shock length. But i'd never run a shock that was too long for the frame..I did run shorter shocks with benefits of lower BB height and slack HT angle, but this was back in a time when bike geometry was whack. lol. Verify your clearances before investing!

The worst thing I dropped between the slats was a pawl spring from a set of Mavic Crossmax wheels. Pulled part of the deck apart trying to find that guy. Stupid human.
