I think it makes perfect sense for Loris, he's always been blazing fast, he was just a little on the loose side, which people often forget, because the French are almost all "slow iz smoozze, smoozze iz fast" type of riders. The wagon wheels most likely help him tame down his wild style

What makes Hardline the 'toughest downhill mountain bike race in the world' isn't the size of the jumps, but rather the fact that they have to clear jumps this big coming out of technical sections. It's not "just" staying off the brakes and pulling up like Fest (massive respect to all of those guys, I squeal like a little girl when I clear a 10ft double)
