Loudenville track looks a bit more interesting in loics video now that it’s getting ridden in. If the tape/netting stuff thats used at the world cups is in the same places as the poles are for this i think there might be a few complaints for it to be changed. Thinking more how that a few riders have said the new netting isn’t actually that safe

I did it once on an old DHO because I was told that was the proper thing to do. A stiffer spring was already on order. I've only ever had one air fork, the last of the skinny legged World Cups. Never bothered checking the sag on that one. I just went by feel.

With fork sag I generally use the setup guide and adjust from there. With shock sag I use the O-Ring or bottom out bumper to measure. I normally measure three times to make sure I am getting consistent measurement for the static shock sag.

Another vote for adjusting based on O-ring & bottom out. On my DH bike, I really don't set the fork for sag, I set it for the track. Certain tracks/parks are rougher than others, while others are mellower and I tend to go +/-5 psi accordingly when I see where the O-ring is ending up. On my trail bike, I will set the fork based on standard/balanced sag-setting procedures but then ultimately adjust based on O-ring bottomoutness.

I'll eyeball sag the first time I put air in a new fork, but other than that I really only use the O-ring to measure bottom out. Rear shock sag measurements are a frequent reference point for me, but I agree with other comments that fork sag measurements seem to be pretty inconsistent and thus not that helpful. My ideal...

I like the oring for bottom out measurements only. I’ve found some trail systems I wasn’t using as much travel consistently with my normal set up. (Not that I bottom out my fork often anywhere but big difference between not using 10 mm and 40 on a 170 fork) But I still only drop pressure by a couple psi. Always just find a good setup on the stuff I like to ride most by feel and run it pretty much everywhere give or take a couple psi.

measure fork sag 3 times in 3 minutes and you will get 3 different measurements. It's a reference point at best, but the best reference of all is a digital shock pump cut the thing off, trust me, it will eliminate a form of anxiety from your life.

Pure curiosity question. Can someone explain to me how holes in the stanchions get oil to the bushings? I can't figure out how it's supposed to work? How do the holes get oil from the lowers up and onto the outside of the stanchions?

Had the opportunity to ride 1199, got some exclusive access because of a friend. I have never ridden hardline but I’m 100% certain 1199 is not even in the same league of gnar. We hit all the features. Found the second ladder drop to be harsh, and had to pull to get the triple after the first ladder drop. IMO the trail feels like a solid double black with a couple solid sends. Really really fun trail though. I hope they open it to the public. Whistler needs this trail

I ran some e. Thirteen a few years back. The tread was too square and shallow for my preference and conditions, but that MOPO rubber was impressive. Not surprising to see the Vee get some love here.

The Attack FSX (Dak's favourite) compound and tread pattern are almost exactly the same as the E*Thirteen TRS+ Gen.2 Mopo tires I've been running for the last three years. I've been trying many tread patterns and compounds over the years (Magic Marys and DHRII were my previous favorite), and so far, the TRS+ Gen.2 Mopo (40d) are my favorite ever. Awesome grip on wet rocks, hardpack, no squirming of the knobs in turns, great durability, and the Mopo compound has really good damping properties. The sidewalls on the Trail version weep sealant becase of the way the fibers are molded...

I know you said Garmin is off the table...but I must say that the Epix is pretty...epic :-) I've got a review in the works, really loving it so far. Getting very consistent climb/altitude readings on all my rides. Notifications, music...the only thing I'm missing is the ability to answer a phone call (tethered to the phone, I don't mean by connecting to the phone network), as it lacks the mic/speaker to provide that function. Really happy with battery life and a very stable connection to the phone. The amoled screen is REALLY nice too. Garmin Connect works well for...

Agreed. Also, the foam block things they now use aren't there yet, so some of the places that look a bit straight line might be chicaned somewhat.
