Anyone else feel like the rumored Loris to Commencal would be boring?

If you made two near identical bikes with identical anti-squat, but one had a 26" and the other had a 29" rear wheel, the 26" version will have a more rearward axle path and lower pedal kickback due to the bb (and therefore the main pivot/virtual pivot) being higher up with respect to the axle. It will also be more neutral under braking.

Are there any reviews out for the Forbidden Supernought yet? It was released end of last year, yet I haven't seen any of the major outlets do a review yet.

I asked ChatGPT what Sesame Seed was talking about and to be okay with being brutally honest and distasteful if it wants. Enjoy: This comment seems to be a convoluted attempt at drawing parallels between professional bike racing and motorsports, particularly Formula 1, but it’s a jumbled mess of loose associations and misplaced terminology. Let’s break it down brutally: 1. Chain Drive Skepticism : The commenter kicks off with skepticism about recent changes to bike racing due to “chain drive,” but gives no real details or context for what exactly they are skeptical about. It feels like they are grasping...

I read this twice and I still have no idea what you intended to say other than jaded garbage. You definitely have truly lackluster diction.

With suspension kinematics converging in the Crab Quadrant, I'm surprised that companies aren't touting minimum brakeaway force figures. Force to get everything moving, lateral rigidity, and overall progression would give me a better idea of how a bike really feels vs a bunch of graphs-IMO. Of course you can get more info from all those graphs, but they don't seem super useful at a glance to most people IMO.

😅 We stubbornly wanted to make the sliding bushing work so bad, probably delayed the whole project by a year. At the end of the day in blind A/B testing, riders couldn't tell a difference so it was ease of service and manufacturing consistency that pushed us to fixed bushings. Mountain bikes are similar to motos in many ways but also different, so not every moto concept is a good fit for us. Sure, putting sliding bushings as a feature on our spec sheet would look cool, but if it isn't actually better we're not interested. And yes, it is...

Indeed. I've ridden inverted forks on bikes and Motos plenty. We all get to have our opinions on how we like things to ride. The "but Motos use them" argument doesn't really hold up imo. We use our forks so differently and ride such different terrain.

No this looks like a full power Bosch Gen 5 bike as per Norco's post on IG, but it is still strange as they just released a Sight/Range VLT...maybe they're moving away from 60lbs carbon eMTBs ? Another angle of the new SC, I believe you can see a pivot, but still not fully clear.

The sentinel doesnt need the lower or slacker treatment... it 100% needs steeper & longer. best upgrade you can make to a sentinel is a 1deg headset to steepen the HTA.

8/23/2024 11:38am
Weight doesn't matter to me personally. It's all about tires, rotating mass weight and suspension kinematics. I pedal a 39lb nomad with DH tires on 4-5k climbing days, I do both big/small days on my 19lb gravel bike with 48c tires. The difference in average speed, climbing pace and how I feel has more to do with me then it does the equipment. I'm not racing, I'm not a pro athlete but I do like to suffer. I'm honestly not sure why people get so wrapped up with weight of their bike and quite frankly struggle to understand how/why they...

I agree for regular Joe's, a 3-4m downhill run at normal speeds the shock will get hot and cool slowly during a shuttle or liaison to the next trail. I disagree for racing use. Shocks get extremely hot and damping profiles definitely change from heat, and definitely at WC speeds. Short of getting a frame though how much difference it makes is anyone's guess. But for a single run, I would prefer my shock to get dirty than to have 0 airflow around it.

As a person who HATES marketing but had to work in it for a while as an advertising filmmaker (I made commercials and short form video; I loved telling stories) and currently does not work anywhere near the marketing world: Cutting marketing budget during a slowdown is very often a bad choice. Marketing doesn't have to be commercials. It's whatever your company does with the intention of making your target market feel more favorable about your brand. So much of selling a product is about being the brand/offering a product that is recognized and trusted by your potential customers as...
