It's just math, if you sell the same number of a product at the same margin, but the base cost is higher you bring in more cash per unit. Why do you think big chain stores jumped on the CFL and LED light bulb product so fast a few years back?

Price isn't too far out of range with current bike pricing ridiculousness. Although $1k for an off shore made Al frame is a bit much for me.

Just6979, you perfectly described why the world’s fastest riders ride forks that are basically locked out, but still ride 30-40% rear sag like the rest of us. It’s not just that they like stiff suspension. Pros hate uncontrolled weight shift, but they love a loaded-up front tire that’s gripping when they brake.

Every time I see a slammed down seat on a dirt jumper my left knee swells up. Am I the only guy with a bum knee who can ride DH and trail, but a dirt jumper or pump track will make your knee explode?

It would be great if everyone cared about integrity of the sport as much as you, but as soon as you say it’s a race people go nuts. It’s not even about money either, how often have we all heard about 50+ year olds doping on the road or other disciplines?
