Simcik Added a reply to Best 8 inch fork

If you are looking into a sub $1000 fork you are not looking at the best in production. The Totem has the exact same axle to crown and ride height as the Boxxer. If you are looking into those 3 forks, the Boxxer Race would be the lowest end by far, look into the Team if you can. The 40...

If I have it back in my hands I will bring it along. I have a coil and an air kit for it, thinking of trying the air. My Boxxer WC feels great!

I love trail riding, mine is a bit on the longer travel side, but getting out and pedalling is where its at! There is nothing quite like flowing trail and earning your descent

Get a wide bar and cut them down to size, but cut them a bit at a time till you have the width you like. I am a big fan of the Deity dirty 30, low rise and wide. Shimano is coming out with some Atherton and Vanderham bars soon too with a variety of widths and rises. Rise is...

Totems are amazing forks. I will be back on one next year. Spending a bit of time and money to get them tuned will only make them better. Lets not turn this into pinkbike and start claiming products suck with simple one-liners. Your personal issues with your Totem are likely valid, but there are tons of satisfied Totem owners, me...

Utah is really the best place. Colorado has too many land usage issues to try and do something like a big contest. We have some more freeride/big bike type of spots, but no where a contest could be held in colorado. http://www.nicksimcik.com/_/About_Me/Entries/2009/10/6_Virgin%2C_99%2C_… http://www.nicksimcik.com/_/About_Me/Entries/2009/10/6_Wilz_Scores!.html These are two spots in Utah that you can build and ride big mountain, but it is...

There arent really any big mountain freeride comps anywhere. The Ranch in Grand Junction has a slopestyle every year, crankworx colorado, slopestyle, Teva games in vail, its mostly a DJ contest no big mountain stuff anywhere really aside from Rampage....when it happens. If someone wants to start a contest, let me know, we need one

The trannied deck really makes it flow much better. Having both would be ideal so you can train for both applications. Crankworx, Crankworx CO, Teva, and Quashqui all have had both types of step up, tranied and flat, being able to trick off of both is an important thing if you are into competing at slopestyle

Having a bit of a curved landing for the step up makes it run a little bit smoother, mine will hopefully have a flat drop at the end to learn stuff like 3's off drops and then a lip as well to allow you to pop off the drop a bit more
