We can't speak for Aletha and Taylor (aka The Ostgaards), but we did get an ok from them to post here on this topic. V+R's best understanding is that Aletha chose to leave TFR for different opportunities and TFR chose to end Taylor's contract. Events appeared to have happened in that order. V+R Racing will be the podium hat sponsor for both sisters again in '24. We're super stoked to sign them for another season! They are also riding for GoPro and Smith. They are back on their Treks, but Trek is not currently one of their sponsors. Massive kudos...

the year: 2033 The remaining humans on earth spend their days fighting wildfires or working in the lithium mines harvesting the minerals needed for the World Cup E-Bike races in Bentonville. Now that Bentonville has expended from the WV coalfields to the Pacific ocean, the global dream of fully paved electric flow-trail racing is finally realized on the remaining parts of the North American continent that aren’t submerged under the seas.

There is no denying your opinion that changing of the Guard is in USDH is brewing. I foresee an epic battle between Ryan Pinkerton and Dakota Norton/Luca Shaw at the Tennessee as a battle between the new guard and old guard. Of course Asa and Lucas are a part of the new guard too, but they won't be able to compete in Elite at TN National as it is a UCI C1 race (unless I'm missing something).

Looking at the top 10 times at the downhill southeast this weekend, half of the top 10 times were kids 17 and under. In my opinion the USDH scene is about to get really young and fast. Those 5 young guns are: Asa Vermette, Lucas Dedora, Chris Liebig, Charlie Golwyn and Collier Key

For me, it's starting an account to toss gas on a topic that no one else has said anything about yet. You know something but you're afraid to come out and just say it. That smells fishy to any reasonable person. In your initial post, you display the clear ability to spell, punctuate, and articulate a thought. But in your next post, you would appear to attempt to cover your tracks by failing to use an apostrophe to indicate possession. Next, you indicate you seemingly don't know the difference in usage of then/than and their/there/they're. Sorry, I just don't buy...

Hmmm, 2 troll accounts created from out of nowhere in the last couple days in order to try and cast doubt on this operation. Seems like some folks may need a refresher on conflict management and resolution. Whatsoever happened to the phone call or the face-to-face meeting?

Louise Ferguson is an ANIMAL for getting back up not once but TWICE, dusting herself off, and completing the Hardline course. Just look at those windsocks at the final jump section that's some commitment right there! Sweaty palms just watching!

I second that! Lou pushing through to finish that run and join Gracey as the first two women to complete a Hardline race run is massive for our sport. Anyone who's crashed in a race run knows how hard it is to collect yourself and keep pushing on, and for her to do that TWICE on such a gnarly track was sooo impressive.

And...I don't know if I agree with the negative tone about hardline here, I mean if you are going to throw neg vibes on bike racing-make it about hating on a friggin rainbow jersey given out for snowbiking. That just made the rainbow jersey, our most illustrious symbol of greatness, look like clown town. Wink

Few broad (highly speculative) thoughts as it pertains to Santa Cruz. First, I think its a bit of a fool's errand to say a brand is no longer "core" because they've grown or a more affluent buyer all of a sudden has taken interest. Yeah, maybe its a little bit of a sell-out type of thing to see 52 year old dentists driving Sprinter vans owning your product, but my Brother in Christ, this is capitalism. To a degree this is the point. To add, the entire company is owned by a multinational conglomerate. So any thoughts of "soul" or...
