I could see these new rules and economic issues resulting in more "barebones" teams popping up. Skip the huge custom-semi, the PT's, the professional chefs, the line scouts, etc. We'll handle the UCI stuff, put up a couple of branded pop-up tents and you figure out the rest.

I wonder if the us open is a tester for the double header dh and ews listed on 2024 UCI calendar, September 28-29 outside Europe. Would make sense for dh, snowshoe, killington, st.anne. Good ender to the season.

I agree, the Whistler EWS always did a good job of livestreaming and hyping up the crowd for the last 10-20 riders on the final stage. It felt like a World Cup at the bottom. I also disagree with Spomer, because I think the constant change in venues was one of the best things about being an Enduro fan. In DH, all the athletes grouse about the same old track, year after year, but in Enduro it was always a curiosity for me where the next race would be- where even is Petzen and Jamnica, where's Loudenville, etc? I tuned...

What a great set of pictures and a great write up. I want to add. I really miss the old slide shows with mixed in audio from Sven and co. Learned so much cool racecraft from post race ramblings. Wish they would make a comeback. Always a great thing to have in the background on a monday while I pretend to work.

Gwin in the booth is pure gold, everything you want in a "technical expert co-commentator". I just wish they'd let him finish talking every now and then...sooo many times they cut him off mid-sentence with a "whooaaaaa up by .5!!!!! waaaaaa" or some random fact that they felt the need to interject. Seriously, if they play back that webcast and check how many times they just spoke right over him, I bet they will be shocked. I hope someone does, there's a learning moment to be had here.

It will only make it more difficult for the amateur rider. Why change something that is no problem? I can allready see the armada of mums and dads with their Motorola Walky Talkys being agressed by thier kid because they could have said something about a two second gap 5 seconds earlier. Not every idea is good even if it could ad something that could be helpfull for a handfull. On the other hand I think that a rider should be alone between the tape and make his own decisions. It is a 3:30 minutes sport. Not 30minutes plus 2...

This many Junior Women is the best thing happening to DH in the last few years, I remember the sad times of only a few per round, and it was not long ago.
