I’m 30+ years into MTB fandom- It’s been about 20 years since we’ve had pro and Jrx fields this deep at a national. Hopefully the same energy and momentum carries forward for the Mtn Creek and USopen rounds!

True that... No surplus money being put into mtb national champs from USAC... But somehow there is a $60,000 prize purse at the inaugural USAC Gravel National Championships . My prediction... Now that XC/STXC are separated from gravity events, USAC/outside sponsors will pour more money into the endurance championships. The joys of having the other half of mtb be an Olympic sport...

So with that last sentence from Rider Mike, I'm curious to hear... Do folks actually think USAC "Pays" venues to put on national champs? It could not be more the opposite. It costs venues 10's of thousands of dollars, (maybe in the 6 figures when it was combined XC and DH) to meet USAC requirements, pay USAC officials, house all of the staff, and put on a national championships race. On the same vein of polling the group... Does anyone know of even ONE other legit bid that was put in to USAC to host national champs in 23/24? I'm...

Taking this a bit off topic, but I thought I'd chime in about the first point. Obviously everyone's channel has a different audience, but as an example, here's a breakdown of my YouTube channel's audience by by age. Instagram is about the same. Now I've never checked, but I assume TikTok viewership trends much younger.

2/8/2023 7:10am Killington would have no issues running regular operations while hosting a gravity nationals... I think it would be a long shot for Mountain Creek that time of year. Most nationals hosted by Creek take place before the water park opens. National champs and the water park would be a nightmare.

Too much to unpack bro, lol. I thought we were going to have a fun next week of speculating about venues, not diving into the inner workings of why USAC has failed DH racing Next prediction to add to the speculation... Mountain Creek Bike Park. Why not? Proven race venue from hosting USAC sanctioned nationals/GRTs, baller trail crew to whip up a DS track, plenty of trail/terrain for an Enduro.
