Haven’t seen this posted anywhere yet, but I came across it on Instagram. Looks like ND Tuned is prototyping a 38mm stanchion fork, with a less than conventional construction of the lowers as well? Anyone know any details?

Article up on the other site about a new Specialized patent for the "Under Bottom Bracket" linkage seen on the new Demo, represented by a 172mm bike that sure looks like it could reasonably be the next Enduro. Overall the information they give (some examples of anti-rise, anti-squat, and leverage rate with 5 different upper link positions/sizes) is basically right in line with newer trends of moderate progression, but there was an interesting bit halfway down the article about anti-rise: “Changes can be made to the design of the brake mount and/or the rear braking system that attaches to the...

From the associated interview: " What sets my bike apart from all others is the purple twin tube adjustable coil shock. This is something I was super excited to develop with Cornelius (Intend) as part of my master thesis. It didn’t make it to production though so now I am riding the only one of its kind and us it as the perfect suspension development platform." https://trickstuff.de/rides-of-trickstuff-episode-8/

Not really trying to start an Ochain discussion ( I have one it works) what I think is innovative is designing kinematics around one to eliminate the idler.

Suspension designed around an Ochain? From the the recent PB pod with Neko, sounds like he designed his axle path to be almost vertical with a high pivot point but sans idler, meaning probably lots of chain growth, but with an Ochain, problem solved! Seems like a great idea especially for an Enduro rig where pedaling efficiency is a priority.

Given that the Era uses an X-Fusion chassis (the same goes for the upcoming Fast coil fork), I wonder if this would have happened sooner if they offered an RV1 chassis for 29 inch wheels? And on that note, does anyone know if there is a new RV1 coming? or any news on the prototype air shock that was on...

Not at all, they're openly marketing this bike to smaller sized people. Knolly also says this is the first bike to pave the way for their 6th gen designs, meaning we'll likely see the release of bikes that include XL sizing and full 29" wheel options.

What? I think it looks great. More importantly they mentioned the move to having all links containing bearings. I know someone mentioned that before they used bushings in one of the links and it would cause a lot of stiction.

That is the WP version of the new Onyx 38 damper with the Cone Valve. DVO NZ reached out after I commented on it as it turns out they had been testing it for a few months already. I've had it all in bits and will run it on the Dyno tomorrow but so far- -Yes it is an actual Cone Valve design, but on the base valve instead of the mid valve. This will change its effect somewhat, since there is much less oil flow at the base valve -Overall construction of the base valve is really nice, the...

Virtually every shop I have ever been in: “We don’t have that at the moment, but we can order it for you.” I can order it too, and it’ll come straight to my house. I’m going to install it myself anyway regardless of where it was purchased. Why would I make a second trip? Complete bikes are the same. I’m going to go over your build with a fine tooth comb, so why wouldn’t I just build it myself from the get-go. I don’t understand people arguing so hard to support brick and mortar just because that is the long...

Just about every brand now sells direct, coming from a Yeti dealer and 10+ year industry employee, it's the way the industry has been going for years, you dont adapt you get passed. Yeti can offer a better retail price (getting below Specialized MSRP) and lots of Yeti customers will still go to a shop as that is just the type of consumer they are. Don't think it will be a huge difference in the long game

Because the Lefty has three (used to be four) flat surfaces with needle bearings between them inside the housing. Which prevent rotation of the stanchion. Which is not the case with dual legged upside down forks. USD forks are flexy because they don't have the bridge connecting the lowers that standard bike forks have. Take a standard MTB fork, cut away the bridge and it will be a noodle. Back to rumors.

Edit your post, it got broken a bit, at first glance it looks like you're posting pictures of the current/old demo saying it's the proto one Smile
