I still enjoy Hardline, but I think I preferred it back when there was more tech and it was less about the jumps.

I believe Louise-Anna Ferguson has said she won't be there as she's focusing on WCDH this season. Looks like BK has been appointed guinea pig again.

(Remember when Willy Wonka sent candy over radio? I'm kinda hoping to learn that telemeatery is sending meat.) Well technically cell phones and WiFi both are radio waves. So wouldn't "sending meat over radio just be a dick pic?

Another thought on Flight Attendant: by putting FA on World Cup DH bikes, they're facing the ultimate programming and hardware challenge. I think there's actually a lot of trickle down benefit from putting FA on Luca Shaw's bike, Troys, Vali's, etc. Because of the speeds and forces at play, they're getting real world race data that's much more violent then XC or even Enduro, and being forced to refine their programming and sensors to determine what's essential, what's unhelpful, and what's possible. If SRAM can make it work there, it can kinda work anywhere. This is of course assuming they're...

Also to pay for continuing the thread derailment - I saw what I think was a 29er Bomber 58 this last weekend. It was only in passing but I swear the wheel was too big for a 27.5 and it had the M bridge over the tire. No badging. Anybody seen anything about that? Another little tidbit - friend tried to buy a Manitou Mara for a lightweight trail bike build he's doing but they're OOS in the size he needed. They said there's a new shock on the way.

I've been listening to many podcasts discussing technology and advancement in suspension - like the "En Route Libre" episode with Olivier Bossard and the one with Loic Bruni. Seems like the French has always had a formula 1 approach to racing and what I would consider advanced suspension tech when compared to the rest of the field. Even Olivier said that he has ideas of things that could be done now to greatly help riders. In the latest Inside Line Podcast Dak was saying that he has a hard time making sure he's in the right gear, let alone figuring...

Would y'all want to see a 15-minute VitalMTB video with back-to-back testing on a section of brutal rocky chunder with different pedal kickback theories to see if the Ochain really works as advertised?

Glycol ether (primary component of dot 4 and 5.1 brake fluid) contains approximately 19% dissolved atmosphere at STP. Most liquids contain some percentage of dissolved atm with alcohols typically containing more. Short of sparging with helium, vacuum degassing is the most effective method of dissolved gas removal. The soda bottle is somewhat different because it is supersaturated with co2 as a method of generating fizzy bubbles. Yes as the pressure is released the gas content decreases but once it’s done or reached is pressure equilibrium there is still 10 percent dissolved atmosphere in the liquid (approx, just guessing on this)...

Yep there is nothing suggesting position sensitivity as there would have to be something engaging/disengaging at certain part of the travel. I could see one potential issue with this concept that mtbers care so much about and that is noise, IFP opening ad closing on repeated hits could create some knocking sound 🤔 anyways, very interesting news, would be also interesting of they were offering damper cartridges like ohlins used to before they went all out and started making forks.

I'm not an engineer, but the Bilstein IFP damper design doesn't look position sensitive like Rockshox's Touchdown, which only acts in the first 10-20% of travel (IIRC). It looks like it's a speed sensitive thing for small displacement forces, although I don't know how the damper is smart enough to know when to run a large high speed displacement through the base valve vs. running only small high speed displacements through the IFP. If it works the way I think it works, it's supple for small impacts at every stage of the travel, even when you're already packed down (which...

Just using the the nicer SRAM bleed kit, I'll degas the DOT 4 fluid before bleeding by pulling a vacuum in the syringes. There is a surprising amount of gas in the fluid. I'll spend as much time degassing as it takes to do the rest of the bleed. I have considered building a vacuum chamber to degas, but haven't...

I thought Poland was pretty good coverage aside from the commentary. The color commentary by Gwin is exceptional, but Ric's play by play is atrocious. From the commentary tone at Fort Bill you'd have thought we were watching folks chip onto the green at the tenth hole of a golf tournament, not watching people risk life or limb doing some of the gnarliest shit on Earth. Combined with the wide field of view, distant camera angles they managed to make one of the most exciting racing sports on Earth look fairly dull, at least to a lay audience that might...
