I have a bike with frame storage, and basically all I use it for is carrying a windbreaker in the fall/spring. Whenever I've stashed tube, tools, etc. in there it makes a horrendous racket unless I spend a silly amount of time trying to fill up the storage pouches to the brim with padding around anything hard kept in them. 99% of my rides I don't need to carry a tube or pump, and the rides I should carry them are long backcountry rides so they can go into my pack which I'll be carrying then anyways.

9/25/2024 3:33pm Well, I think it makes more sense on a road/gravel bike IMO I've had heaps of road punctures etc - can store wind jacket etc in the frame. Vs MTB... big rides are usally at the point of hip pack anyway or shuttle'd For reference i've used alot of bikes with storage, Stumpy evo, slash.... marin etc i've used it...

9/23/2024 9:28pm funny you mention the Y160E, I didnt like the demo bike i tried. Currently on the new Marin Alpine Trail E2 with the bosch and its a damn good bike, Bought both the E and steam bikes together, they are both seriously good bikes and rare to find an Emtb that feels similar to the normie bike.

9/23/2024 5:43pm I've had nothing but shifting drama's with 11spd linkglide, between many bikes and different sets of linkglide its always a bit iffy in changing, I've tried all sorts before i gave up and went XT 12spd, no issues.

9/15/2024 8:43pm what pads are you using? & what brakes? I dont really have the 'fast wear' with the galfer purple ebike pads on waves. I use wave F/R or F with shark rear.

9/15/2024 8:40pm some rotors, like shimano's terrible rt66 220 rotors vibrate & flex ALOT aligned and straight rotors with any quality hub, The rotors will shake and vibrate so much they rub on the CALIPER when at speed. these 220 rt66 rotors are also rubbish in performance, There is almost no stopping power difference between a 203 and rt66 220.... swapped out...

9/12/2024 12:28pm crazy, I've only ever broken 1 Sram Derailleur and that was when gx 12spd first came out. since that time ive owned prob 50% of each brand (big S) and ive broken a heck of alot of Shimano derailleurs. Same with chains actually, never broken a Sram one but i've broken a few shimano ones. I've got 2 Transmission GX...

I had a similar problem with MTX gold pads a couple months back on my XT/ZEE setup. Both pads would bed in well, then I'd a few minutes into a descent and immediately glaze the pads. I tried cleaning/sanding/rebedding 4 times and finally gave up. Contacted MTX and received friendly customer service but the guy couldn't give me an exact answer to my problem. The real solution was buying a set of T4 V4's lol.

9/4/2024 9:02pm Im running 223 wave up front with shark out back. Purple ebike pads in my ebike are holding up damn well. way longer than any resin, i wouldve been through 2 or 3 sets of shimano resin by now.
