Weight has very little to do with compression damping. If the sag/spring is set correctly the damper shouldn’t see much difference in force between different weights. Rebound needs have a large range as it is resisting the extension caused the spring.
100% I would talk to the race promoter or commissioner. They're the one in charge of the race, let them figure all that crap out. Besides, this is the person the athlete should have reported things to in the first place. I wouldn't flame the athlete publicly right now, because the race organizer might end up doing that for you. Maybe if you report it and nothing happens, you can flame them later. That's a tough situation to be in. Not envious.

Not sure why this year but it didn’t feel like there were many mechanicals or crashes or really even many close calls. (There were some) I didn’t watch the semifinals or even look to see if they are available to watch. The feed was fine on replay from flobikes in Canada but there was a commercial at the very beginning...
Why would that be awkward? That's exactly what many of us are saying these guys should be doing. No one's saying it's an easy path. Lots of riders and privateers have to juggle their work life with their riding life. They have to use vacation time to travel for races and comps. Lots of guys have to figure out sick time, short term disability, etc, if they get injured (I think of someone like Steve Vanderhoek, who's a firefighter, but had to take some time off after a nasty crash at Tour De Gnar. Luckily a job like firefighting has...

They can get a regular job to fund their slopestyle hobby until it pays off for them. You don't have to be broke and living in a van if you don't want to. A friend of mine raced world cup DH and was an electrician in the off season. The dude had tons of money to fund his endeavors on top of what sponsors were supporting him with. It's not unreasonable to think any of the slopestyle guys can be doing the same. With that financial freedom, they can pick and choose which events they want to ride...and not show...

I recently (within the last 2 years) went from full 27.5 to mullet and now full 29. first bike was a Knolly warden with full 27.5 and mullet. now on full 29 chilcotin. The biggest difference between them was mainly in square edge bumps in the rear. I could definitely feel the rear wheel in 27.5 get hung up slightly...

Edit oops I misread the charts it but the large is 509mm reach up from 490mm. Chainstay length is up 446mm from 438 on a large. I like the one piece rocker link and longer chain stays but I think they may still be off as they grew the front so much more.

I can’t remember if the uci just releases team names so if no specific manufacturer is in the name we could be waiting a bit longer…

That’s a blanket engineering statement that says if you use non stand links on your bike your warranty will be void. Just like over forking or running a different stroke shock
