Things sound differently in your area than they do mine I see the Ibis alloy bikes all the time here but rarely see a carbon bike. I would guess a 10 to 1 ratio at least.

Worked with a guy who had spent near an hour trying to adjust a front derailleur. He was a prideful sort and wasn't keen on people offering help. Finally asked me to take a look at it, I flip the cable to the other side of the pinch bolt, check the shifting and tension, and returned to my work bench without saying a word.

I spent more time than I would like to admit trying to fix my shifting. It would shift fine for some of the cassette but some gears I couldn't get to work right no matter how i adjusted. i even replaced a derailleur hanger. Turns out i routed the cable of my shimano derailleur backwards.

I’m in the plus 200lb club and run 20psi front (exo+) and 25psi rear (DH) ( mainly to limit rim strikes and flats) I think terrain and riding style play a big part in tire pressure. I like to ride more natural terrain with flatter corners. If I was riding park with more high speed bermed corners I would need...

I always go back to the comparison of rally racing vs F1 when it comes to comparing enduro and dh/xc. Rally is cool to see but hard to film and has more of a grassroots feel even though they have big names involved. It’s popular but you can’t just sit and watch the entire event. Lots of privateer racing doing...

WB/Discovery is in a questionable financial place being 41Bn in debt. I read that they might be shutting down motortrend arm. I guess it’s a wait and see if anything happens to Cycling coverage.

There is going to be very inefficient heat transfer between the pads and the heat sink compared to the shimano version with the them being integrated. You could increase the thermal transfer if you used some kind of thermal compound but I’m not sure how that would stand up to water/mud. It will do something but just not nearly as...

Can’t recall the first one it was awhile ago. Gen1 warden the linkage ended up getting bent. Carbon warden I had corrosion issues and the rivnuts spun in the frame for the down tube access.

Knolly has been great to deal with I have had three different issues on three different bikes. I have paid a bit extra each time to end up on the newer version of bike. Shimano has been good for shoes as I kept cracking the soles on my ME7s. I had three pairs before I decided to try something else...
Weight has very little to do with compression damping. If the sag/spring is set correctly the damper shouldn’t see much difference in force between different weights. Rebound needs have a large range as it is resisting the extension caused the spring.
100% I would talk to the race promoter or commissioner. They're the one in charge of the race, let them figure all that crap out. Besides, this is the person the athlete should have reported things to in the first place. I wouldn't flame the athlete publicly right now, because the race organizer might end up doing that for you. Maybe if you report it and nothing happens, you can flame them later. That's a tough situation to be in. Not envious.

Not sure why this year but it didn’t feel like there were many mechanicals or crashes or really even many close calls. (There were some) I didn’t watch the semifinals or even look to see if they are available to watch. The feed was fine on replay from flobikes in Canada but there was a commercial at the very beginning...
