I kind of agree with mrssamhill. Maybe Laurie and Jackson make it look easy, but it does look more like the ultimate bike park/jump line than the gnarliest DH track on the planet. Maybe the dry weather is making it easier to ride. A bit of rain will shake things up for sure.

Kathy is one of the nicest humans I was fortunate to meet on the World Cup circuit. Always smiling, always took the time to listen, regardless who you are. Genuinely nice. I strongly believe that people with a demeanour like hers are an important part of what makes our sport different, special and approachable, close to the fans. Just had to say that. Mx

I only watched a few Beyond the lines last year. They were quite good, but after 12 hrs of DH content I normally had my fill. Sadly '24 is looking like Vital Raws and this will be the only way I can watch DH

In ‘22 I watched races live if they didn’t require we to wake up at 2am, and I watched the taped replays of every race usually same day, or the day after. In ‘23 I watched every Vital Raw, and maybe one or two of the winning run replays within a week of them happening, I’d have live timing up here and there too. Barring someone pirate streaming or pirating the entire broadcast to watch as soon as it ends, I will likely watch absolutely zero of this season if it is all behind a paywall. Why? sorry, didn't mean to imply that the broadcast should have more 30. IMO, 30 riders in a live raceday webcast is plenty. i was meaning if UCI/disco decided that only 30 men/10 women qualify for finals, then i wouldn't subscribe. if the finals field is that limited, i'd imagine the # of riders trying to qualify will significantly fewer, and personally, i find that makes the weekend less exciting b/c there are fewer stories to tell. all speculation though.
