do people really look at this and think "yea that looks great"? might just be me but the colors don't mesh well, all the gold shit is gaudy as fuck and the grey (?) fork looks weirdly out of place

XT is good stuff, and I appreciate the 24mm axle for longer-lasting BB bearings. I used to bend XT cranks about 1X a year back in the day, but replacement left crank arms were easy to source, so wasn't a big deal. Maybe the XT cranks are stronger now? I'd probably go Zee or Saint instead. Cranks aren't where I want super light. RF Aeffect R is also a good with a 24mm axle and you get more cinch chainring options, and they're durable.

I need to know more about the 9 speed conversion. It looks like you still have the 12 speed cassette? Did you just wind the limit screws in lol?

Using a zip tie to attach the quick link makes it way less quick to use. Very few people i know bring any cutting/snipping tool on rides either.

It's the lever piston that's the issue mostly when talking about stickiness. As for piston movers, if anyone needs a similar tool and has access to a 3D printer, I have a model whipped up. Send a PM and I can share it.

THIS It's amazing how many people I hear complaining about lack of power in their Codes. Then I get on their bike and their brakes feel like shit because of poor bleeds/setup and sticky pistons (major SRAM issue IMHO). Also, the RSCs with the swing link are more powerful than the standard Code R and RS. Which I think is a mistake as it makes people thing that all Codes are weak.

Sounds like buddy maybe just rode a properly bled and bedded in pair of codes for the first time (with the stealth levers). Amazing how proper brake maintenance and well setup rotors/pads with straight alignment can make a world of difference.
