10/4/2024 5:59pm Does that groupset not do the job? Would you prefer the bike to be more expensive with a groupset released last year that accomplishes the exact same thing? I love how as a community we complain that novices by bike by the derailleur model, and then we also complain about derailleur models.

9/22/2024 9:39am In short: A space for you to share brands that produce bikes, gear, components, nutritionals, etc, etc in an environmentally sustainable fashion. Brands that focus on producing their goods with minimal ecological footprint, ethical manufacturing practices, smart packaging, recyclable/repairable goods, or local-to-you manufacturing. Brands that you admire, that 'do it right', and go above and beyond. Would love for this to be a resource for mountain bikers (and brands) to reference. So when it's time to invest in new gear, you can invest in quality goods from quality brands that have the earth and longevity in mind. Mention a brand...

7/4/2024 8:17pm Eh, that's what - about 20mm less than most? Most people running a 170 fork... with a 180 fork, and another 10mm spacer under the stem you're right there. Maybe an issue if you're already running a lot of spacers, I guess.

5/26/2024 6:14pm Wild to me sometimes how "matter of fact statements" come about based on very little (im making an assumption here) Bryn Atkinson (DH athlete) has one of the coolest press videos for the Norco Optic. Matt Hunter (freeride athlete) has a great Spesh video on the old Stumpy) Almost makes sense to do some filmimg with Loic on the new Stumpy, to highlight its descending abilities (especially if there are plans to shelve the EVO model). Not sure it makes any more sense for Bruni to film on the Enduro than the Stumpy. Bruni could be filming for a segment...

5/12/2024 5:51pm Yeah you're probably right, we're just guessing here. I was just amused that both times I've heard the name has been whining about something. Like I said I don't follow the world cup enduro since it's impossible without investing time I'd rather spend riding my own bike so I wasn't aware that other riders were complaining. I'm sure those finishing closer to the top aren't complaining as much though.

5/12/2024 5:49pm BME in windrock just finished, Rachel Pageau just won on a v10… is that enduro? Ok sometimes races only have uplifts, but it seems very unlike the spirit of enduro to race a full on DH bike.

5/12/2024 5:48pm Just shows how much of a beast Rude is. The guy does not have the physique of an XC racer by any means, and he absolutely crushed it. Enduro as a race format isn't going anywhere, lots of really good races and series in the US. But the EDR/EWS whatever you want to call it is on life support.

5/12/2024 5:47pm You're right, I don't follow enduro racing and can't name many racers off the top of my head. Maybe 5 male and 2 female without thinking too hard about it (I like to follow DH instead). I'm sure she's also aware of the endurance aspect of it which makes it more surprising.

5/12/2024 5:47pm World cup enduro racing requires a lot of endurance, who would have thought? The clue is in the name. I don't know anything about Bex but this is only the second time I hear the name and the first time it was also whining about something.

5/12/2024 4:29pm I really think the enduro courses need to go back to being big, unassisted days out on the bike and the Finale course looked like a step in the right direction. Making the liaisons super tight really can ruin a race though and turn it from a tough, hard fought day into a miserable and dangerous suffer-fest. Finale has always been a physical race with quite tight liaisons and brutal stages. To put some numbers on it; in 2016 the first climb of day 2 was 1000m vertical from the beach to the nato base and the time given was...

5/12/2024 4:29pm yeah even richie said the time gaps were tight, but wording of bex's complaint is a bit exaggerated IMO. it's the enduro world cup, the best of the best and fittest athletes in this category, not some weekend warrior for fun event, i think the pros should be challenged. all the usual top riders seemed to be able to manage it, so please stop with "violating human rights". but that's just my humble opinion from my comfy mourning table, so can't really say what went down on site

5/12/2024 4:29pm Seems Bex needs to find some perspective, choosing to race a cycling event that no-one forced you to do, and one you can decide to stop at any time, somehow amounts to a violation of human rights? Get a grip. Last two seasons the professional EWS racers have been asking for big race days, especially as now all races are one day events. That's what they got here it looks like and racing was tight regardless. Look at how tight the men's top three was before final stage. Seems to me that those who prepared correctly for the season got...

5/12/2024 4:29pm For context, Bex finished in 21st place 6:38 minutes back. Imagine being Hattie Harden who trained her ass off all year, competed in multiple XC and DH races and smoked the competition to hear 21st place say the pace “violated human rights” lol, gtfo
