You can rip on their English translation skills all you want, but I'll wager it's a helluvalot better than your Mandarin. Their derailleur architecture looks more aligned to Sunrace's RDM series, just with a battery pack and servo rather than a pulley and housing stop.

It's only knockoff if it comes from China. Otherwise its just sparkling IP theft.

Knockoff how exactly? Because it has 2 chain pulley wheels? Because it has a lower cage that extends and takes up chain slack and is spring loaded and clutch damped? Because it makes the chain go up and down the cassette? Because it attaches to a rear derailleur hanger? This has to be one of the weakest "It's just a cheap Chinese knockoff" accusations I have ever seen. About the only thing it shares with SRAM is it's wireless, and so when Shimano finally steps up to the plate in 2025 with their true 100% wireless rear derailleur, I guess...

Top comment from the other site pretty well sums up my thoughts on everything (exclusive of the last sentence, I’ll probably still watch because I’m an absolute mug)… ‘WBD keeps saying these changes are good for the sport, but I’ve never been less excited for a new season of World Cup. I have no plans to watch.’

Hm. Has me thinking. Now this is some mouth breathing type of tin foil but I wonder if Trek is trying to do steel manufacturing to not be so indebted with Giant? All for it. Now if other companies could move to steel Id be happy because the weight savings between carbon and steel compared to value is pretty shit if you ask me. May as well just go to a greener material.

I'm ready to be downvoted, but here's a hot take - I think most of the $1500+ steel HT frames from "boutique" builders are marketing BS. Titanium is hard to weld correctly, so I'll cut some slack for TI stuff. Al needs to be heat treated. But steel? Your local car shop/welder can penetrate weld. No amount of "custom geo" "bespoke" "compliance" "insert new hot word here" is going to make some welded steel tubes that was aligned on a jig be worth that amount of money. Reynold steel tubes cost 30-40 for a downtube/toptube section.Full suspension alignment is a...

The best thing about those pedals for me would be how they should eliminate the need to replace bent and snapped pins after almost every ride (I suck and lots of rocks around here). I can't buy canadian made though because there is always a risk some of my money will end up supporting canadian hockey.

I can see Sam Hill pulling out closer to the event. Red Bull should have given his spot to someone more committed like Adam Brayton.

Hey, I’m Ryan Burney. I’ve spent eight years as an engineer for full-suspension bikes, working on some fun projects, like developing the flex Horst link for the Cannondale Scalpel and being lead engineer for the latest GT Fury downhill bike. With over a decade of downhill racing under my belt (even made it to one World Cup—though I didn’t qualify so I stuck to engineering), I've had the pleasure of racing alongside the Vital crew, like Jason, Tanner, and Dak. Below is a photo of me, being slower than Dak. These days, I’m focused on my own projects, but I...
