Yeah, just ran the update, it’s noticeably quicker. With old software, if I was in wrong gear, the slower cadence def reduced shift quality.

Tacky Chan is faster rolling, basically an improved DHR2. Magic Marry is an improved Assegai with a little more edge on looser conditions. If you want a faster rear, Nobby Nic rolls well and pairs well with the MM up front.

9/11/2025 6:54am What's a good suggestion for a non radial, rear tire from Schwalbe for Socal, hard packed/loose conditions? I was Maxxis forever, switched to Radials a year ago and want to stay with Schwalbe but try a non radial rear since replacement time is coming up. I'm down to Big Betty and Tacy Chan, leaning BB. Open to any suggestions, thanks!

The "only shifts at the ramps" thing is a myth that SRAM isn't going out of their way to correct. There is no sensing of position, torque, or anything else going on -- so it's simply not a real thing. It was just rate limited to make sure us hoons didn't blow up chains too quickly. The existence of Transmission mechanical groupsets is evidence enought that you can bang shifts as fast as you want and things are hunky dorry.

Maybe not the most interesting news but - For you who run the AXS Transmission groupset from SRAM Apparently there is a new update coming any day now that is supposed to speed up shifting, similar to XPLR speeds. Not sure how it will work, since afaik its designed to shift only at the ramp in the casette to shift smoothly even under full power. Dont know how increased speed will affect that.

9/9/2025 9:22am They have another Avinox release in January, but could they also still release new Bosch frames concurrently? I think diversity is good but it's a lot to manage for a small operation. A lugged frame sure is sexy and from Crestline would be top notch.

9/9/2025 7:04am Sure looks like it could fit a bosch shaped touch screen. I can certainly see them making the lugs and someone else doing the rest of the work. If you look into the work cascade does outside of the mtb world, they seem well equipped to do this kind of work at scale.

9/2/2025 11:54am You are correct. I'm spitballing here but I'd imagine whatever deadband you have the ochain set to most of it occurs BEFORE contacting the elastomer. For example, set at 9 degrees, 8 degrees occurs before touching the elastomer and the last 1 degree is elastomer compression? The elastomers really don't seem to have that much compression in them.
