Test rode a '22 Trek Top Fuel recently. 120/130. Similar to what I am reading here, I was pretty surprised by this bike. Fast, and the suspension worked very well. I actually wonder if I'd be faster on the Top Fuel on many of my local trails than on my SB150. These shorter travel bikes are pretty fun to ride.

XC racing, especially at the World Cup or Olympic level, is insanely gnarly! Besides the physical abilities required you would never find me sending it on a 100mm bike with a straight post. Head to head racing is pretty exciting as well!

Having super easily adjustable knobs are not a selling point for me. I would prefer a 4 or 5mm allen, just make them all the same size... However, kids and a-hole friends are likely rejoicing. I loved my CCDBA on my Transition Covert back in the day... can't wait to hear how these perform.

could you imagine having to ship back that fat bastard ebike when your motor starts acting up? I agree warranty is always a heavy consideration when buying direct. to be fair it looks like they're using the same (proven) motor that others are. Hopefully the battery won't catch the carbon frame on fire like the occasional Tesla! "I can't ride tomorrow guys, my ebike melted."

One thing that hasn't changed is a majority of riders aren't good enough to take advantage of half this shit. Instead of buying pimp new carbon fiber wheels and debating wheel sizes, a majority of riders should buy some skills clinics and if they want to shave some grams, shave it off their waistline.

Not all the plus tires out there right now are all that great. Most have shitty sidewalls. Has nothing to do with the size standard itself. I’ve been running Maxxis Chronicle EXO 3.0" for 200+ miles this summer over the rockiest, sharpest, terrain the Colorado front range has to offer… no flats and I’m PRing shit on just about every ride. I didn’t expect that at all, but it’s happening and it’s way more fun than I was having on 27.5 - 2.35" Maxxis rubber (which really measures 2.2" at best).

SAND PAPER!!!! YOU NEED SAND PAPER!!!! If you don't rough up the rim surface your tape will roll off (just barely) when you change tires 6 months from now, and then air will leak into your rim, but it will only leak out of your valve, and you'll think your valve is the problem, and you'll spend hours trying to fix the seal on your valve, but it's not your valve, it's a huge gaping section of your tape that rolled out of the way and is letting air in through the spoke holes, and then when you finally figure...
