10/24/2023 6:02pm What are some good resources to learn the math needed to calculate those values? I'm currently taking Calculus 2 in college, so I should have the base math skills needed to do it. Same with anti rise and anti squat.

10/24/2023 6:02pm On the contrary, if you’ve got the time and patience I would highly recommend doing the math instead of using linkage. You will learn a lot this way. Kind of like it’s good to learn calculus before just using calculators to solve calc equations. It probably sounds more daunting than it is, but leverage ratio is just the derivative of y axle position so you can solve for axle position as a function of shock stroke and whatever other dimensions you might be playing with and then you’ve got everything. 10/24/2023 6:01pm I think Creo/ProE is used by lots of the big boys (and Asia) due it's powerful surfacing functionality. To make those carbon frames purdy. But it is absurdly expensive, last time I checked it was something like $15-20k a seat, with $3-$4k a year renewal cost. Solid Works is less expensive, but not by much. A really good basic CAD/CAM package is Fusion 360. You can get it monthly for like $70, they even have a free 30 day trial, and have tons of on-line tutorials to help learn it. 10/24/2023 2:11pm Not all "poppets" are equal. You can design a valve to fit the same space, that resembles a poppet valve but isn't digressive to the same degree as an X2 or CCDB shock. See the cone valve/spool valve discussion a few pages back. The design of the main piston makes a difference too - a large, solid (or close to) piston driving a ton of oil will tend more towards digressive, but a smaller piston with progressive opening shims will be more linear. 10/23/2023 5:47pm RAAW retrofit kit to upgrade Jib and Madonna to make there bikes compatible with the new standard. 10/23/2023 6:11am Did that hub have some mechanical problems inherent from its design? Like planetary gears breaking or something like that. I saw the Orings should be checked and replaced, and cone nuts tightened correctly.

10/23/2023 6:11am It is crazy that they aren't promoting these benefits more. I spoke to them at the Works in Progress show back in June and chain growth/pedal kickback wasn't even mentioned so I walked away thinking it was just another silent hub concept.

10/23/2023 6:10am Yes. This video of theirs is much usefull as it shows the mechanism disengages pawls. Genuinly clever idea. The length of freecoasting is amazing. https://www.instagram.com/p/CxdqbPUPgUm/ The mechanism I saw just a few days works the same way - there's triangular plate that pushes into pawls by its rotations and make them pop down from engangement position hence preventing them from engagement.
