I think Norco moved that low pivot Horst performance to the fluid. And if you dig, quite a few highly skilled industry riders have found that the fluid is exactly that. And written //commented on the incredible kinematic in the affordable and well executed alu frame. Now in carbon….. Love the forbidden Izzo. Looks like a loooooong stay short travel pretty light whippet. I think that’s the syllabus too.

Does anyone have any real world experience with the new 2026 giant reign E+? Or giant e bikes and Yamaha motors In General? It’s quite the appealing bike to me, The battery capacity seems to be the only obvious drawback if you want to do a really big day, but fine for 90% of rides I suspect. I spoke to...

Personally, I'm not American, so that doesn't play into it at all. Winning doesn't make you likeable. Dak presents as a nice guy and people like that. Having a bit of a unique set up could also play into it, but I think it's mostly just the nice guy thing. People also love an underdog and a comeback story, so everyone's been cheering him on as he's steadily improving after his injuries last year.

I like Dak but I think some vital users have a slightly biased view on him. Sick guy, love listening to him, still very fast. But I think it’s very healthy and appropriate for sports teams to sign new younger talent.

tech rumors forum update - you've spoken and have been heard we'll lock out this thread at the end of the year (no matter what, it's just too darn big now), and will carry on with yearly tech rumors threads that will be stickied for easy participation. the 2026 thread is already underway here (not yet stickied) i just want to thank everyone for their feedback and insight on what this piece of the vital community means.

To go with your last point, companies should build different bikes as not every rider is looking for the same feel and handling from a bike.

On one hand, I shouldn’t give a F about what Markus says. I did my three years at YT, met amazing people, learnt a lot and got paid not too bad. On the other hand, given the number and kinds of situation where Markus showed zero accountability for his own actions and screwed up both customers and employees that I personally witnessed, I really wish for other people’s voices to be heard at least to the same extent as it was with the Downtine podcast. I am not the one to talk out loud since my role was not that...

You're very entitled to your own opinion, but I didn't hear the same contradictions you did. I've re-listened multiple times this morning and I still can't hear it the way you have. I heard Markus say they knew they were facing tough times but weren't expecting the PE firm to get to a point where they aren't willing to inject cash. The Fire Sale was an effort to get through that specific period without having to ask for more cash. That failed and then they were told 'no more'. As for your previous point, it's not exactly clear to me...

I was the one who originally floated the idea of maples to frameworks in the forum, people could have just read that and assumed I knew something.. but I didn’t, was just going off nekos vibe when commentating his runs. OTB podcast quite confidently said maples to pivot last episode.. but they are practically a bikepacking podcast now so can...

1 - the new maxxis high roller 2 - the new maxxis forecaster 3 - short travel bikes, picked up a Norco fluid, sure its heavy for its class but its a hell of a lot of fun, simple, reliable and constantly exceeding my expectations 4 - rockshox vivid coil 5 - good customer service - I’ve had interactions with...
