No such guardrails exist for ebikers behaving poorly. Enforcement is non existent on trails absent losing access entirely. The only reason the Oso isn’t DOA not being Avinox is because of its absurd amount of adjustability and removable battery. Compare it to the Vala and Regulator with paltry adjustment in comparison and fixed batteries. I’m no Avinox fanboy but I just can’t imagine spending $7k+ with so many compromises and the Oso does not have any of those same compromises.

It's very noticeable in Handling especially the higher up the weight is placed. Levo gets noticeable more sluggish if you swap the 500 for the 700 battery. The weights seem also to be stagnating thanks to the batteries getting bigger. As a lighter rider I don't need the additional power. I would love to have a lighter E-Bike tho with a fast swappable battery in two sizes.

Ya, there's way too much overlap between tq and avinox bikes in terms of weight. There should be 0 overlap, and it shouldn't even be close.

4/16/2026 1:47pm Kind of - the e-enduro is really the Kenevo, but perhaps spesh is dropping that line? It's a shame because the Kenevo SL is a great bike. If it had hot swap batteries and full power, it would be a top tier option IMO. I'd like to see them do dual crown ebikes again, but specialized doesn't seem interested.

Update on Maven Silver/Ultimate with the Shimano BH90 banjo/stock XT setup. No leaks whatsoever at the banjos. About ten 1,500ft steep brake heavy descents on them with plenty normal trail and bike park style riding mixed in. (ebike) I’m putting this setup on my trail and park bike here soon so will have every riding situation to report back on this summer. 4/9/2026 6:02pm I also love meaty paws, but found that revgrips are better for arm fatigue on big bike park days. The revgrip rg7 (xl size) strike a good balance of ergonomic shape and suitable for large hands. I am curious about the new ergon GDH fat. Those look quite good.

After my MS diagnosis and symptoms caused me to stop riding, I got a job at Art's cycles doing bike building/packing and I started a list of new bike tech that would come up that I've never gotten to use. Some of it was from before but I hadn't been able to afford. Inserts are on that list. Along with 27.5 and 29 inch wheels and many more. But I got So good at installing them. Used to not run them till I gained weight and started denting rims, ran them after that for a long time but thought I would try running DH casing tires on the rear, within a few weeks of that I dented my rim really bad and so I'm going back to them on the rear. I run the Tannus Tubeless Armor

I've had mixed luck with carbon wheels. I had a set of Enve DH rims a long time ago that I broke a lot of (pre-Cushcore), but I've got a set of carbon XTR rims on my current lighter duty trail bike that have been fine. I've wondered how a DH tire/carbon rim would work for me on my long travel enduro bike, but haven't been a-thousand-dollars-curious yet. I also really like the flex of alloy wheels, and while I imagine the current crop of carbon DH and enduro rims are better than what I rode back in 2013, I'm...

4/2/2026 9:04pm Well all the responses have me convinced that inserts are at least worth a try. It hurts my soul when I run 25 psi rear in the bike park and hear my rim ding off rocks. I ordered a set of tannus tubeless pro for use on reserve HD al rims this summer. I’ll report back in a few months.

Like a lot of people, I am not very smart. Also, I have been riding tubes quite some time and when I switched onto tubeless back in 2018, on my Intense Tracer VP, I thought that will protect me from flats.
