11sp X01 cassette for €250 is simply the best cassette for weight and durability. Add in the fact that the 11speed derailleurs are much shorter and almost never smash into rocks. You just have to accept the 10-42 range life (hint put 30-32 tooth chainring and pedal less down fire roads).

Yes, I agree, I just happened to be commuting earlier in the week and filled my tyres up more than needed. That is why I was so impressed on the wet day, the larger contact patch is real even at "too high" pressures.

I've been on a radial Albert rear tyre since august, never really found it to blow my mind, just a normal good tyre. This was on alpine singletrack, with +4psi. This morning I did a very wet ride, and was really impressed by the grip despite high pressure (about 6-7 psi above my normal wet pressures).

He's the first dude to do this and make it look cool. People have been doing this for close to 30 years and its either super slow or they can't drop anything without stacking it. Its just nuts how good he is at it, its like watching skiing at this point. Also, now that its big lines he's going to have to employ some of the same techniques that skiers do with sluff management. Truely a stunning video.

End of March or April according to EMTBforums. But there are several members that claim to have seen the bike, yet they can't agree on the announcement and availability dates. Bike was rumoured to be ready ove a year ago...
In France, so different market, but not too different story occuring on the online marketplaces. I just sold my Giant Reign e-bike bought for 6k in 2023 with 2 batteries, sold for 2.8k with both batteries. Bike went in 2 weeks, I looked on the local equivalent of craigslist, people were trying to sell their 2020 version for 3-4k for...

There is loads of content out there of MTB and MX pros riding together in each others disciplines. Another great on here with a riding section at 7 minutes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D7yZG4WEGX4 I think the moto guys probably have 2 misconceptions: The jumps arn't that big and the moto guys are physically stronger. The thing is the jumps don't really matter in...

What do you reckon about Geo in the modern era of big and fast pumptacks? I bought a cube flying circus last year, tons of fun, but had to put +60mm bars to feel close to comfortable, reach is just under 400mm. But I wonder, if I wouldn't have been better off trying to find a 430-440mm reach bike, even though I'm not sure they exist. My full sus bikes are in the 460-470 reach range.

Mondraker team posted on instagram yesterday that they’ve moved on from Shimano, looks like they’re on SRAM now. https://www.instagram.com/mondraker.factory.racing.dh/p/DFlry_EoNUN/?im…

To be fair, I happened to watch his vlog from the other day, dude is slumming it in NZ. He is driving some beat up pickup that barely starts, not sure he has a mechanic with him... It might just be what parts were available to him out there. Also interesting to note there was some discussion around Ronan going...

Racing related: first footage I've seen of Goldstone in a while, I know it's a play lap, but my god the kid can just do anything at anytime. One of the sickest follow cams I've seen!
Hi, I live in Nice, agree with commenters above, just book a day of shuttling (which includes a guide), they will take you on all the classics you mentionned. 80% of the trails are flowy singletrack with some tech, mostly hardpacked soil with some sandy parts. There are some extremely rocky ones too, but that isn't the norm. My recommendation...

Orbea taking a step back from headset cable routing is a bigger deal to me than their DH bike! I was one click from ordering a Wild, but after seeing the heaset in the flesh and reading the horrendous reports on forums I just couldn't do it. They quite litterally have the worst headset routing implementation (knockblock that breaks and...

Energy is proportional to half the mass time velocity squared so adding weight has less effect on the impact forces than physically travelling faster. So if the extra weight enables you to go faster then its more than worth it. Obviously there is a trade off in terms of acceleration and cornering, especially in a powered vehicle but thats separate to impact strength. The bump stop thing is pretty cool - you can definitely tune it much better when you aren't constrained by packaging it with the damper. Could be cool for frame designers to build this in which would...

Obviously, I know what a hydraulic inerter is... But maybe you could explain it to sspomer here and I'll review? On the more serious note, is the RS touchdown tech purely for feel? I can't imagine unweighted bike damping bypass plays much of a role in suspension performance.
