Saw this cool video dissecting a trophy truck. when shocks are is discussed (14:37 in the video), they show dampers with bypass tubes in the shock body which provide increased shock tuning. has anything like this ever been used in MTB? i'd imagine the stroke of a mountain bike shock is way too short for this to be applicable, not to mention the springs and shock body being completely separate on a trophy truck compared to our one-piece units. could the idea apply to a fork since its travel is longer? i also figure if the system isn't used on...

Nice, I was definitely interested as I find Oneup to have great design and engineering. But focusing so much on the "thinnest" aspect when my XTs are about 3mm thicker and thus have 1.5mm less clearance is a bit deflating to their argument.

I only ride E-bikes at max assist: bent 3 sets of 155mm cranks on my Giant Reign e with its way too low 330mm BB. (Descending, not due to poorly timed pedalling, although it messes up technical climbing also) Currently on 140mm chineseum €40 cranks. I don't really find much negatives with short cranks, I would probably ride 155mm if...

Ever so slight off-topic: My new bike came with adjustable head angle via headset cup, sounded great! But it also comes with headset routing, luckily not the worst implementation and can mostly be ignored. Except of course if you would like to rotate those fancy headset cups, suddenly I need to take out all my cables and disconnect my brake...

In: higher bottom brackets and higher stack. My wheelbase is 1300mm I don’t need a 340mm BB anymore

It's safe to say Canyon pays Van der Poel 3-4x what they pay for entire enduro budget (riders, mechanics, travel, gear, marketing). But recalls can destroy companies if they don't have proper insurance/cash reserves.

I doubt this will make a dent in Canyon. Aren’t they mostly a road/gravel/commuter brand? Reckon Van der Poel gets paid more than all of what Canyon spends on enduro racing. And the sponsor oodles of cross/road teams.

Anyone know how much of a cash safety net Canyon are sitting on, and what is their distribution of sales in terms of road vs mtb? Because they must be getting absolutely hammered on the ebike battery recall. They havn't been selling any full power ebikes for weeks, they are offering hundreds of euros in compensation to spectral:on and torque:on...

Just from a marketing point of view, GT have not been a cool brand for the past 20 years, their full sus bikes consistently had weird suspension layouts that never reviewed well, then they went a more traditional layout but some of ugliest frames ever. I can only think of one brief time GT bikes were cool, when the Atherton's...

The BB on my ebike is way too low so I have been having major issues with crack/pedal strikes, bent 3 155mm cranks in a year. Now on some cheap Chinese 140mm cranks and very surprised at how "ok" they feel.

Interesting how poorly the Schwalbe fared. I have the Radial Albert and for sure I would not put it out front, but it seems pretty good to me and very impressed by the hard wearing nature of it. It takes a long time to figure out the pressures, you need easily 5psi more than a non radial tyre.

I went back to 11 speed on all of my bikes about 4 years ago. I find it far less finicky than 12 speed to set up and spending less on wear items suits me fine.

I haven't ridden BC outside of a day trip to Whistler over ten years ago when I was a complete beginner. But looking at the videos from Remy and other YouTubers there seems to be endless "pro" level trails that I would probably stay away from despite considering myself a very good rider. That said, I'm blown away with some...

Ebike specific, but I find the Recharged podcast, from Rob Rides EMTB on youtube, to be quite good to know about what's coming up in tech. Obviously they have a lot of embargoes etc, but they manage to convey quite a lot good info about trends and upcoming tech.

Not sure it is being discussed here, but word from many sources is that the next gen Levo has been ready for ages and they just keep pushing back the announcement due to the amount of unsold current gen stock.

I’m interested to know why you think people have less purchasing power than say early or pre pandemic. I will agree some people have less purchasing power than during the pandemic. 1200 a week is a significant raise for a vast portion of Americans even if a significant decrease for “middle class Americans”. And they could do that while staying home and not paying for child care. Again i work in the restaurant industry. I have no problem saying we have greatly increased our costs towards our consumers. But its purely labor. Honestly profit margins are slightly down and product...
