UCI just announced in the Rider Communications that the road gap is closed for the Junior women in DH this weekend, B-line only. Its open for Elite M and W and junior men. i thought this was 2025? Why not let the girls decide for them selves whether they want to take the B-line or not.

I love trails, building them and riding them. I searched for a generic trail thread on here and didn't really find one, if I'm wrong and one exists feel free to delete this. I envision this as a thread to discuss general trail maintenance, routing discussions, land manager relationships, rogue trails, and all other things trail building. Post what you're working on if you're willing. I'll hopefully grab some pics soon of a jumpy little xc line I've been working on that I'm excited about.

Dissector EXO front with a Rekon EXO+ rear if you want to be on the faster trail side of things but with a bit extra durability in the rear. DHF EXO front with a DHR2 EXO rear for a solid trail setup that is fine for first timer bike park usage. Assegai EXO+ front with a DHR2 DoubleDown rear for that heavy hitting setup that you can still pedal around. I prefer MaxxGrip front with MaxxTerra rear for pedaling but bike park capable.

I could probably give her my 120mm trail bike set up as it is for me right now and she'd podium an EDR. Just reinforcing what you're saying: She rips regardless of her stem or chainstay length.

Hey folks, been reading here. Just wanted to chime in to say I fully agree that vertical compliance is a myth. At best it’s misunderstood. The idea that a frame is deflecting enough to provide any meaningful results when the tyre has over 2” of travel is daft. But marketing exists and here we are. I do believe certain materials and designs can help dissipate vibrations better than others but soft tyres and comfy grips will do much more. Lateral compliance is a real thing though. I often get asked about my ‘flex stay’ design - “will it snap”, etc...

I designed this so happy to answer any questions on it. Its actually as stiff as the stock countercycle mount (probably stiffer with the 4 points of contact at the fork) carbon reinforced plastics are pretty stiff with the right infill and wall thickness, also sometimes you have to use the tools at you disposal, if i owned a cnc Id probably do something different

As this thread has kinda become a state of the industry thread I thought this might be the right spot. https://www.bicycleretailer.com/industry-news/2025/06/16/devinci-offers… Devinci looking for more OE manufacturing for other brands. Surprised to see it it say that hyrdoforming comes from Asia, forgings make sense but I thought all the tubing was drawn and formed locally in QC. How about a Chromag aluminum DH frame made in QC? Or Norco having a run of their DH frame made there. Rocky Mountain would do well to take advantage of it.

Sorry, but I've never tested the Rekon. Looks like a great rear trail tire. If you care about max traction, well buy the max traction tires. But if you are on a trail bike and want the max overall speed, there is a lot to be gained by going with 'just enough traction' tires. It also can make you feel like quite the hero at times, sliding around, gaining speed everywhere.

One time, before heading up the lift on one of my first bike park days ever, I lubed my chain with an aerosol spray lube – inadvertently covering my rear rotor. Riding along and all of a sudden my fork feels like it completely locked up. Gave it one push down on the bars and heard a nasty scraping sound. Thought for a minute that maybe I had come crazy failure of the air shaft or something else inside. Nope! Just the perfectly sized and shaped rock to get wedged between my stanchion and arch. Took some trail-side fiddling but it eventually popped out. I've never seen or even heard of this happening before haha.

Oh hey! I had the same thing happen to me too except I got lucky that it got caught between the mud guard and the dust wiper so my stanchion survived
