4/24/2025 11:00pm If you need a guy from the midwest/plains states trying to ride XC trails and livestock/wildlife trails aggressively and - consequently - crashing pretty often but not that hard...I'm your guy! If you would award bonus points for being a higher-than-average sweater and much-higher-than-average salt content in that sweat then I'm getting a dripping helmetload of bonus points. Practically on...

4/24/2025 10:47pm I'm working on my own lap timer iOS app and handlebar mounted bluetooth button called Cyclaps. The bluetooth button mounts on your handlebars and communicates directly to the Cyclaps app to start/stop timing and mark segment times. Just hit the button on your bars next to your thumb. It can be MUCH more accurate than any GPS and you can time anything/anywhere you'd like. The Cyclaps app can be set to record simple times or segment times. All lap times are recorded to a file on your phone that can be filtered and shared. Cyclaps does not use any data...

4/22/2025 9:44pm In a lot of cases that would mean burning relationships with your supply chain which is not something I think a lot of companies would seriously consider doing voluntarily.

4/22/2025 9:41pm AKA the amazon method, or any large chain/retailer later referred to as a "monopoly" - they either succeed and take down a bunch of smaller companies (or buy them out), or they fail....and sometimes still take a bunch of smaller companies with them.

4/21/2025 11:17am It's the Walmart method. Price yourself just enough lower than everyone else for comparable goods that some consumers will get on-board...and then wait. Mom & pop stores will eventually close and you can raise your prices. If you have the cashflow to survive it - it doesn't hurt to have a large enough scale that you can get product on...

4/18/2025 11:54pm I did try the Dissector and didn't get along with the side knobs. They start undercutting so quickly. For a similar weight and much better durability I just moved up to a DHF. Forekaster is surprisingly close to aggressor for rear grip. I found the Forekaster to bite better in mixed conditions while having very similar cornering traction. Climbing traction was better on Forekaster. They both roll fast. So I have the whole Conti gravity lineup in soft and SS compounds (Argo/Krypto/Xyno). Krypto F / Xynotol Enduro was a interesting combo. Krypto F bites so good that you start to...

4/17/2025 7:11pm The season just barely started so Revel was probably sitting on it's highest level of inventory for the year and it looks likes they assemble their bikes in Carbondale, Colorado in 20k ft square HQ. a move they made in 2023-2024. Couldn't find if they owned or leased their HQ but I would assume a decent chunk of their secured debt is their HQ. Let's say they had about 1000 bikes worth of frame and parts currently unpaid, that can easily be 1-3 millions of debt to various suppliers. https://www.postindependent.com/news/revel-bikes-makes-carbondale-its-h… https://www.aspentimes.com/news/revel-bikes-celebrates-new-carbondale-h… So i am not too surprised about the 8...

4/17/2025 3:02pm I wonder if limb length correlates in any way to how a bike feels at the different FC/RC ratios. Someone with long limbs might feel great at a 1.9 ratio because they have space to move around the area that useful body positions often find themselves while someone with short limbs on a bike with a 1.9 ratio might feel...

4/17/2025 2:56pm People will come on here debating f/r ratios and best cs lengths, reach etc without talking at all about cleat / foot position. The preference that a rider has for a particular foot position hugely affects f/r weighting. And two riders on the same bike with the same proportions will have very different experiences if they run 5mm different cleat positions.

4/17/2025 2:52pm Have you compared Dissectors to the DHF2 by chance? I'm on an Aggressor rear and was considering Forekaster for that. Currently DHF2 up front and I'm looking at options because sometimes it feels perfect and other times it feels terrible...all on the same day in the same conditions. I think it's PROBABLY a skill issue more than a tire issue...

4/15/2025 12:11pm I think also that mtb riders as a whole are a somewhat conservative bunch. When I think of "proportional" rear center lengths being smaller movements than ideal I just see brands dipping their toes in and getting riders used to the idea of something. You could go MORE proportional and have the range be closer to 40mm difference in RC...

4/14/2025 11:38am From the website: "Rear Hub WTB Frequency 12 x 148mm" Salsa seems to be losing the superboost rear end. Love to see it! This bike honestly looks pretty sick!
