Orbea spotted in tue background of FMD how we roll ep 2 that came out yesterday. Hardies bikes carries Obrea but seems a bit sly given rumors.

Don’t imagine it cost an awful lot to buy him from his commencal contract - it wasn’t the main team iirc, it was the commencal/schwalbe team?

My understanding is it was always a short term thing, basically filling Jackson's spot while he was injured...

https://youtube.com/shorts/--oNeJP7yI0?si=eHQGO1n97Ih51dC1 Atherton gearbox bike looks like it's happening. I always thought they were quite heavily associated with Shimano but I'm not sure if that's still the case .

12/20/2024 11:47am That's going to be interesting with the double DH races at Whistler. I wonder if we see any athletes specializing in a specific race or if most will be doing the double header. It will make for an interesting mixup to the points, where 33% of the DH points will be available in the last event of the season. That...

Another option would be to allow WC pros to race but exclude them from the UCI/WC qualifying points. If WC pro wins a race the qualifying points go to the first non-WC pro.

I had the same thought. It seems like if you are on a MTB World Cup Series team you would not be allowed to race. Which a lot of them do for "training" etc.

Apologies if this has been answered, but I dug through the press release and this thread and could not find anything. Are riders on the top World Cup teams allowed to race continental series races as well? In my mind the answer would be no to allow up and comers to gain max points at those races, but I don’t see anything stating that.

12/18/2024 12:42pm According to the OTB podcast, Atherton is going to be riding a belt drive bike next season to chase the Gates purse. Also an unnamed Kiwi junior is joining the team. Does Luke Wayman have another year of juniors? There's been a rumor of him joining for a while.

I knew this was coming with Anna 's season last year. Mixed feelings- really stoked for Anna, sad that one more privateer team is going away. All the best to Anna and Abby next year!
