comatosegi Added a reply to BIKES PARKS IN BC

Another vote for Sun Peaks, its a big park, you can do more days there. Village is small and cozy, so not sure what your wife’s expectations are, its not Whistler village but it checks the block.

Mid high pivot, seems to be the best compromise. You get the square edge performance with more neutral cornering and jumping character. And Forbidden is still unique because of the true proportional sizing, which I think is still the key sell point. I am terrible judge of aesthetics.

Sorry, I really don’t have any inside info, just a bike nerd that got to bother Owen for 10 minutes. I wouldn’t count on V3s anytime soon. With the way the bike industry is going, they probably need focus their capital allocation on getting enough Druid-Es to dealers and customers. In PDX Cyclepath only got about ~8 of them and...

There isn’t a downside, you would get more dropper insertion with the new design. They also made the LR more linear progressive instead of the ramp at the last 1/3rd. Owen told me they did that because shocks didn’t have HBO when they started designing the V2. With the HBO they didn’t need that ramp anymore and were limited on...

Main piston is shimmed for compression and rebound in all Push shocks, the adjuster uses a coil spring backed valve with no shims and adjustable preload for HSC. The standard bomber CR also uses a spring backed valve but its a very stiff belleville washer instead of a coil, and no shims either. At a distance they have similar basic architecture but the actual execution is very different Some kind of preloaded valve usually works well at the base valve - its rare to see a regular unpreloaded shimstack in the reservoir. It helps maintain back pressure on the main...

My guess is a lot of riders didn’t know they need to add air to the dropper once in a while, going to a nitrogen cartridge reduces those issues for most riders.

TRP made a running change to the hoses, they added a stiff plastic liner. I didn’t know about this when installing my Pros and kinked it twice. Ran it the entire season like that and didn’t have any issues. Apparently the soft hoses were causing the soft bite point.

Great review by the way, I've been enjoying a lot of the recent reviews on here, especially with the follow up discussions that add more detail and long term impression of the product in the real world! It feels much more useful for the end user, or someone like me who is selling product but doesn't get to spend a lot of time on every single new thing that gets launched

Like I said I have been through 4 X2s and haven’t experienced the harshness and I like HSC, run -3 to -5 depending on the fork, with LSC near center. Diaz has a whole a bunch of IGs of Fox forks with excessive friction at the bushings due to misalignment and maybe that is what people are running in to. Plus there is always the over greased negative air that Fox is notorious for. Coming from the G2, the GX2 is definitely an improvement from a design and performance standpoint, don’t hesitate to give it a try. There is also...

36E has some peculiarities. You already mentioned the 34 air spring with the thicker stanchions. It also runs a different e-bike specific tune, from my understanding is less damping than normal. If you are trying to use more damping for support, the X2 or the Lift will be way better at providing increased damping. Even going from a 36E G2 to 36 X2 the fork rides higher in travel, I actually removed 5mm stem spacer.

I wish that was it. It's a 2025, before they redid the arch in '26, so I doubt your hopeful theory applies here. If only.

Any chance your 36 might have QC issues? I was told by Fox they had some X2 issues in the 2026 36. Can’t remember the specific symptom.

I have not found any HSC harshness in X2 dampers. TR’s feedback I would trust more. I am 190lb, have decent amount of time on a 40 X2 Smashpot, 38 X2 Secus, 36 X2 Secus, Podium. X2 moves more oil through the larger 24mm base valve, lighter riders are the ones who might be over damped.
