Full qualifying/seeding results from Hardline - big congrats to Lou Ferguson who becomes the first woman ever to complete a full top-to-bottom run at Hardline Wales (following up her success at Hardline Tasmania where she and Gracey Hemstreet were the first women to complete that course in 2024). As per usual, any rider who completes the course whether in practice or training should be able to ride in the finals, regardless of seeding results. Note that finals are now at 3am PST (12:00 CET) on July 27, the event has been moved forward in the day to account for inclement...

A union adds democratic structure to a corporation. The workers use their bargaining power as leverage to negotiate their working conditions. You vote for your union reps like you would for representatives in government/council. Plenty of countries have gone insolvent due to the decisions of an autocratic leader, just like plenty of companies have gone downhill due to the decisions of a bad CFO. The global overstock issues continue. I'm guessing YT's investments in the USA are now considered liabilities, and they are finding it hard to do business with an unpredictable tariff environment. Right now, bikes from Taiwan are subject to both duties (~12% for regular bikes, 0% for e-bikes) and then another 32% for tariffs. And who knows what that tariff number will be next week. It's not looking good for other bicycle producing countries (Cambodia 32%, Vietnam 46%, China 34%). Bikes might be on sale now in the USA, but I imagine things are about to get a whole lot more...

When more and more stuff is done with robotics and AI, what kind of demand will there be for labor? Perhaps a good number of jobs are in fixing robots, or very specialized jobs that require a good deal of visual accuracy, wide range and generalized knowledge, as well as critical thinking? We've been threatened with the death of working class and the birth of a leisure society before, but I can't help but think we are, slowly, getting to that point. 7/12/2025 3:56pm Yep, my underdog team got obliterated too. I had fun running calculations on the juniors to find the best value riders though.I was pretty surprised by the results of that. For example, some of the 2nd and 3rd place finishers were high in value, but eclipsed by cheap riders with poor finishes.
