I prefer the look of a straight headtube on a steel frame, so I selected the 44mm (100mm length) for both frames. Each has ZS44/28.6mm | EC44/40mm headset spec for tapered 1-1/8” - 1.5” steerer.

That’s two questions. Ha! I’m a fan of the monopivot. It rides predictably in all situations. The design is far from new. Some of the first full suspension frames back in the 90s were quite similar, yet those didn’t work well. My feel is the pivot location is now optimized and modern shock tech makes it an option again with great ride characteristics. I wanted simplicity, durability, and ease of service when bearing replacement is necessary. Marino delivered. As for alignment, and accuracy of geo, I was impressed with both.
