Great question, as this was a huge concern of mine when I first fit the shock on the frame. I added a patch of Xpel Armor protection film on the kink of the seattube just in case; that wouldn’t be a long term solution if there is contact but it would likely get me through a ride. At sag and as the shock moves to at least 50% of the stroke, the link is actually moving the upper shock eyelet forward and the coil is further away from the seattube. After a few rides now, one with a few jumps...

It’s Xpel Armor that I purchased direct from their site. I bought a 4” wide roll of it and cut it to size for the application; it works as great downtube protection too.

So simple and that’s exactly what I wanted for a park bike. I’m glad it was able to happen, eventually (9+ month process), with the numbers I wanted too.

The build was just finalized and I’ve not had any trail time yet. My starting point with the spring, based on a few online resources, was the 500 - 610 weight. With just half a turn of preload, I was only at 25% sag while I wanted to be at 30-33% with one full turn. I swapped in the 450 - 550 spring and that seems to be better for sag. The spring easily compresses to the sag point and then the system feels very supportive. I’d say the claim they make regarding the Progressive spring being similar to air...

Nice build! How's the single pivot with progressive coil work out? Want to try on my Marino but cautious of low sag vs blowing through travel.

Sorta surprised VitalMTB would promote this. Video quality aside, this guy needs to ride *on* the trail. http://cotamtb.com/trails/trail-love-3/ "tread on trail" for a reason at this sensitive location.
