3/28/2026 9:29am I want to be mad, but the way of going about it is solid... Ok, I don't really want to be mad... Still, good work on coming up with the estimate...

3/28/2026 9:27am Back at it again with my horrendous image measurements, this time something actually bicycle related. I took the shock eye to eye of 225mm and zoomed in super close to align it to the centre of the shock bolts and scaled the image until the measurement was exactly 225. I drew a line to the middle of the shimano crank spindle and the middle of the rear thru-axle (also zoomed in until my eyes were bleeding to estimate the centre as best as possible). I then measured the horizontal distance between the two points (used construction lines to make this...

3/27/2026 11:33am Sounds like my theory has already been proven by people smarter than myself.. Daniel at Neuhaus was saying a lot of the same.. He is feeling that standover will be a bigger issue, especially with suspension still being figured out. He did however bring up 750D as a way to go... Which measures out to roughly, wait for it.... 30.5...

3/27/2026 8:34am On the latest Bikes and Big Ideas podcast, the subject of BB drop came up while talking about 32in wheels.. What was discussed kinda makes me wonder if that's what can tie it all together.. More BB drop, more of the stable in the bike feel.. Reduce the amount of drop, length the HT to keep stack similar (or cheat...

3/25/2026 8:42am I know they have had some changes internally at the company, but I can't say if those led to the problems or if the problems led to the changes..

3/25/2026 8:40am IIRC DVO boss Bryson discusses company lineage/ownership here: vitalmtb.com/features/Vital-MTBs-The-Inside-Line-Podcast-Episode-4-Bryson-Martin-Founder-of-DVO-Suspension,1589 I remember it being an enjoyable and informative pod.

3/24/2026 9:22pm They are assembled on their own line in the Suntour factory. Suntour makes some parts for DVO.. Maybe most, but I'm not sure.. I believe Suntour helps with some of the engineering, but the design work is DVO..

3/24/2026 11:30am Maybe keep Sun Ringlè as the hub brand and slide the rims all into the Reynolds brand? Outside of some nostalgia with some older peeps, the Sun Ringlè name doesn't seem to have the luster it once did.. But, consolidation under one name would make sense...

3/23/2026 11:34am I could see something like this if both Bear Mountain and Snow Summit were open during the summer.. Take a chair up, ride the fire roads that connect the two, do some other laps and then ride back to your beginning park.. Especially if you are on a trial or enduro bike.. But, I don't see the numbers adding up...

3/23/2026 8:37am I guess the total number of lifts used summer vs winter could be an indicator..

3/23/2026 8:34am Good question and I've heard this for years. I can't find a great source, but Whistler was publicly traded until 2016 and did disclose revenue by quarter (duh) back then. In 2016 they were doing ~$70M in "ticket sales, retail and rental, food and ski school ops" revenue through the warm weather quarters against a total of ~$230M. So no, its very unlikely they were matching revenue. Profitability was even worse, with EBITDA margin around break even for these months, but I hardly did a deep dive. One other fun fact, I believe they count bike tickets under "other visits"...

3/23/2026 7:12am A little over 20 years ago, I had a staffer at Whistler tell me one in the winter equalled the entire summer revenue wise.. Curious if that's changed much.. I can see that at places like Snow Summit and Mountain High ( Who just announced that they are taking this summer off to play catch up on their plans for...

3/20/2026 5:56am I can't believe I have to say this, but there is no "right" position to set a handlebar. I put it in whatever position feels most natural and effortless for my wrists and hands. For most bars, that's means i roll them pretty far forward (like Jackson G), but YMMV. I know tons of people who think the bars feel more comfy rolled back. There's no wrong answer. I guess the only wrong answer would be to deliberately run an uncomfortable setup because you read online that it's "the right" way to run your bars. And yes, changing your bar...

3/19/2026 3:55am I've seen some people say that the higher rise could affect the reach, but it would seem that would really only be an issue if you roll the bars back..
