Re: "Will we see any of the mega brands move to Avinox mid-term?" I agree that these price cuts are a direct consequence of Avinox eating everybody's lunch. But I don't think we'll see big brands starting to use Avinox, for compliance reasons. The one thing that draws consumers towards Avinox (- high power output) is basically also the reason why the big brands don't use them. If other electric motor OEMs like Bosch or Brose wanted to make, say, a 4.000 watt motor in an e-bike form factor, they absolutely could. I'm told there's nothing holding them back from...

With Specialized having their branded Brose motors, I would think Trek or Giant are looking.. Trek has a history of using different motor companies. Actually, if TQ is working on a full power motor, I would expect to see that debut on a Trek. Giant almost needs to do it. The Yamaha motors ride ok, but they seem to be...

Large Geo looks absolutely perfect for somebody. Who’s 6 feet tall again this isn’t for somebody who wants to ride blue flow trails. It’s a purpose build jump bike so the shorter reach in short change stays are probably perfect one in the air.

I think you meant “kind of FUN geometry”. As a person who gets more than 100 bike park days a year, this is way more in line with how parkrats of all ages enjoy riding… ymmv

my 2 cents after spending some time on the bike is that I really want to spend more time on the bike. A couple anecdotes here: I was surprised at how well it pedalled and the lack of heft that I was expecting after looking at it. After giving it back for a month I had to film on it with no time to get familiar again. First trail was a rapid North Van classic that I have ridden a bunch and I was immediately sending it. It was extremely poppy while still being planted, able to pull for all...

As the ring can rotate forward with the narrow wide chain meshed to the ring, the forces are dealt with by that spider rotation rather than the chain moving in an undamped fashion. When the spider moves it takes the chain with it, so rather than losing tension you can think about it as if the drivetrain is rotating freely around the crank.
