bermslapper69 Added a reply to Gwin not representing US at World Championships? (WTF?)
8/8/2021 7:32am So the big takeaway here is that USAC is still entirely incompetent as an organization and do a terrible job all around (especially when it comes to DH)

Losifer Liked a forum topic Horse dancing is still an Olympic sport…
8/3/2021 5:15am So, there are a LOT of Olympic events that seem ridiculous to me. Like horse dancing (or “dressage” if you went to a prep school.) DH seems like much better sport to showcase on a global stage, unless you have summer games located in areas without mountains… But would the quadrennial bacchanalia that is the Olympics help or hinder downhill?

8/2/2021 11:56am Anyone find it remotely ironic that muc off are pulling sponsorship when their ad campaigns are not exactly PC themselves. Google image search "muc off girl" to be met with scantly clad girls holding mucoff products. comparing apples to oranges...... sort of, mildly hypocritical..... yep.

7/25/2021 4:47pm Ah yes, Europe, a land famously free from racism.... I'm sure that all the people drowning in the Mediterranean or the English channel for having the temerity to be brown would agree with you.... Personally I've found much of the reaction to his post very disappointing. It's mostly along the lines of "it's too personally inconvenient for us to think that he might not have innocently posted a racial slur because we enjoy his bike riding so let's not bother and all agree he's a nice guy"

7/25/2021 4:47pm As a sponsored international athlete, particularly one that has travelled to the US more than once, the expectation is that the athlete knows what not to say, especially in the wake of the events of the past year and the civil rights protests that were seen all over. Unfortunately, the nuances of culture are not easily translated even to those who speak the language fluently, let alone to a foreigner who barely speaks it. Truth is, what Amaury posted is a racial slur. Is he racist? I honestly don't think so. However, if he posts or posted a similar racial...

7/25/2021 4:45pm Everyone saying "he is french he doesn't understand "American" issues yada yada" This type of thing isn't only an issue in America. He can't play dumb like he doesn't know. It is everywhere. After a quick check, he follows Lewis Hamilton so at the very least he has seen the plethora of posts from Lewis about the issue.

7/25/2021 4:45pm He is a little “unhinged” to quote Mick Hannah, I don’t care about his hair cut or some stupid video. I just want to see him back riding a bike like a maniac.

7/25/2021 4:44pm Difficult to scale ignorance. I imagine culture has quite a bit to do with just how poorly he’s going to come across in the us. He seems like a super genuine and good natured dude. His apology seemed real. Not the first and won’t be the last pro to do something dumb on the gram or at an event. As a kid from the suburbs probably 1/2 my fifth grade class had a haircut or outfit straight out of a rap video. I assume his mimicry is out of fandom as well, but it is wildly tone deaf in 2021.

7/21/2021 6:14pm The worst thing about EMTBs that nobody mentions is...riding with people who still ride regular bikes...the constant waiting for them to catch up. It really is a problem that needs to be addressed.

7/21/2021 5:49pm What spare parts are 27.5 or 29 specific besides rims and tires? Wheels (pre built) are front and rear specific anyways and most people choose to run different casing or tread design tires front and rear so I don’t see how this changes the spare parts you would keep (spare rear wheel and a couple of tires?).

7/18/2021 9:35am Specialized coming out with their own lightweight full face helmet? Doesn’t look like a proframe, a leatt or a smith mainline but idk if this is something else I forgot about.
