It is my understanding the entire DH project is driven by Richie. Having the EDR die off and become E-EDR is helping also. With the current E-EDR team for Yeti being Shimano/Yeti and a development platform for STEPS it makes sense that will continue.

not true. In 2024 ERD will still be here as well as E-EDR but in 25 EDR will be gone and only E-EDR will remain.

I'm pretty sure the Yeti/EP team will continue as E-Enduro will be the only ticket come 2025. I'm also pretty convinced that the Yeti program will be the one to split into DH and E-enduro

If there was millions of new viewers in dh at least some of them would be commenting here, pinkbike, YouTube, etc. search engines work pretty damn well. I haven’t seen any. But I have seen countless comments of lifetime fans of the sports who have stopped watching. And if they cut semis and keep the rider count for finals at 15/30 I may find a way to watch but I’m not going to pay for gcn or discovery plus or whatever app it’s on. And I would hope for the sake of the future of the sport the riders seriously...

unfortunately chris ball went MIA after the first checks from the UCI cleared. there where a whole lot of problems in DH and EDR this season people would love to hear his comment on it.

What if it has less to do with cash flow and more that 2025 there will be no EDR/EWS, only the E-EDR as per the rumor? These teams are just getting out because they don't see the point in continuing a dead series and the coverage has been crap. Marketing and publicity is just as important so they are not seeing any ROI if there is no coverage. I'd like to see a candid interview with Chris Ball to try understand some of their decisions, because from the outside it certainly looks like they are trying to destroy it. Remember...

If GT is indeed leaving Enduro, then I think it's very likely that the Cannondale Enduro Team might be leaving too.

GT is almost certainly out and I bet Polygon goes as well.

It’s no surprise that with how bad the coverage has been, tracks are “meh”, and riders seeming less interested this particular year, that teams are dissolving. The global economy and ripple effects from Covid boom have certainly played a major role as well. WCDH is heading in the same direction. Seems like UCI screwed the pooch this year with almost everything, so much that racers were stoked about the smallest things. if you’re paying for a streaming service to watch the races, I’d say now is good time to stop.
