4/9/2025 4:05am gonna play devil's advocate x1000 here about levo speeds with the explicit mention that i don't care if anyone anywhere buys one, i would NEVER buy one (who has nearly 5 figures to spend on a bicycle with or without a motor???), i'm painfully aware of the wrench this class 3 stuff throws into trail advocacy, i fully expect 87.69% of levo owners to be rallying illegally in class 3 and i fully expect downvotes to go skyhigh, but... i own a toyota yaris (maybe 97mph top speed). a mid-life-crisis guy in a neighborhood down the way owns a ferrari...

4/8/2025 2:18pm @CascadeComponents Hey, I get access to a university machine shop from September and I'm interested in making something similar to that rear end for either my Vitus sommet or a custom bike I'm working on. Is there any way to get in touch?

4/8/2025 9:30am Carcinisation comes for all. It's like how all mass-transit eventually ends up as trains.

4/8/2025 5:29am Aye, but it's useful information to know that the whole team are moving to this prototype and it's not a one off. My theory is that a lot of teams are going to switch to the high pivot "4+2 bar" linkages as they switch their focus from geo (we've kinda reached peak geo) to anti-rise, anti squat and leverage rates...

4/4/2025 12:25pm Glad to see others don't buy into the whole "pedal kickback" thing. Personally I believe it's down to unpredictable anti-rise causing the suspension to firm up, which you'll definitely feel more through the pedals. Having tried a bike with an O-chain, I still felt harshness through my feet, it seems to be solving a problem that doesn't exist. Now, stopping...

4/3/2025 5:43am Interesting to hear that some use Nitrogen, I don't know much about the operation of laser sintering machines so I assumed Argon would be the gas of choice.

4/3/2025 2:47am California and the west coast has long been known for having trail access issues. The implementation of e-bikes have increasingly complicated matters in recent years. Our trail advocacy organizations have fought long and hard for more access by building relationships and trust with land owners. Specialized had long been a big proponent of trail access with programs such as Soil Searching until they recently axed the program due to budget cuts. Now allowing e-mountain bikes to go 28mph on our local trail networks will lose the trust of current partners and kill the possibility of opening up new land to...

4/2/2025 12:33pm Class 1 & 3 are the same, but with 1 having a top speed of 20mph and 3 being 28mph. I run out of assist (15.5mph) before I run out of gears, I'd love assist up to 20 or even 28. Why is this disregarding land and recreation managers exactly?

4/2/2025 8:56am The feed stock, which is the powder the laser sintering machine melts. It's not commercially available as far as I can tell, but you can buy 6061 if you have access to a machine. I'm willing to bet Atherton will be one of the first customers of the 7A77 feed stock when you can buy it, as it makes the...

4/2/2025 5:49am When printing 7075 stops being exclusively for NASA applications, that's when some truly insane bikes will start to hit the market. I'm hoping to start prototyping my own alloy lugged rig from September and I'll be updating this forum on how it all goes!

4/2/2025 5:46am Nothing wrong with a carbon front triangle! In my opinion it's only the rear end that's susceptible to dings and rock impacts that ideally should be alloy.
