3/19/2025 1:24pm Probably referring to the blank port with the system controller in it, that's obviously meant to be a screen. The gen 5 bikes have been waiting for the combo system controller/screen thingy since they first came out.

3/15/2025 6:38am Replying to @AvgMTBEnjoyer re: Would CNC lugs bonded to drawn tubes be the best compromise between the two? Typically no. Bonded overlap joints require a double thickness of material, so they're heavier than a welded joint. The edges of lap joints can suffer stress risers where the overall thickness transitions abruptly from one layer to two. Being thicker, the lug and lapped areas are typically much stiffer than the tube, that localized stiffening can increase the stress/strain on the tube spans. Also, CNC parts are typically structurally inferior to forged parts (including drawn tubes). Machining is most suitable when production...

3/6/2025 6:02am It's all personal preference. I prefer how the 29er has a more "even" feel due to the BB drop being the same at both axles. Whatever the front wheel does, the rear wheel does the same instead of "doing it's own thing." I'm sure I'm actually faster on a mullet but I personally don't value the whole "you can forget...

2/28/2025 12:56pm Would you take one with 316 stainless lugs and Reynolds tubes? I'll even throw in some redundancy with bolts and double lapped joints?

2/20/2025 8:51am It looks like the same rear triangle (with different links and wider hub spacing), and mostly the same front triangle with the head tube lug being different to account for the different cable routing that dual crowns have. If I'm correct, and the links were available to purchase you would be able to have all 3 S-Series bikes in one!

2/20/2025 4:18am This one is pretty good and show the Type 2. The Type 2.1 has a metal pin thru the housing that you also need to get rid of to be able to work on the T55 bolt. The conspiracy theory behind that metal pin is that Shimano has the patent on the clutch mechanism and sram is only licencing the clutch, and not the option to change the tension of that said clutch. I have no idea if thats the thing or not. https://www.mtbiking.com.au/workshop/sram-type-2-derailleur-clutch-over…
