These arrived last week, haven't ridden. Def stamped. For comparison, I weighed an HS2 200mm rotor and it was 198g.

Much love! I'm just stoked to be part of a brand (Vital) that I grew up being such a fan of. We might be small, but I love what we stand for and everyone out there who connects with it.

Another great podcast. Anyone else here happy about J. Schroeder's increased prominence at Vital? It's nice to think that Spomer has some good support from a smart, conscientious second. Just wanted to give that guy (Schroeder) some props. As they say in Tennessee: " 'preciate you". Thanks all, for feeding the MTB content beast.

Raising your bars can make your front tire feel less grippy and more vague, but it can also the opposite effect and make your front tire feel more grippy and less vague. We had an example of that opposite and unexpected results in one of the Vital forum threads last week. The effect is always going to depend on the rider, trails, and their current handlebar height. But yes, when people experiment with bar height and they eventually discover their own personal "too high" height, the feedback I've observed pretty consistently and experienced myself is that the front tire feels...

I also read 52 books last year! Well, I didn't exactly read each book all the way through. But I read the title on the spine, and if it sounded promising, I looked at the pictures on the cover and read the rest of the book jacket.

Without looking at any numbers for it, I'd assume the link primarily gets used to control leverage curve and the dog bone primarily gets used to correct geo. You may very well have combos where the alterations to the link would produce undesirable geo on their own so a dog bone has to be used with it to get the geo right.

Why did they choose a dual chain drive for the jackshaft instead of a timing belt (gates etc.) ? Also, generally curious what the ride dynamics are like. e.g. is it a plush DH plow (session/commencal), or does it have a decent pedal platform that allows you to pump and be nimble / boost jumps, (v10...)

Just thought of some more to add to my previous thoughts..I would think Highgear is SRAM only? So NO Shimano option. And what is the equivalent front gearing..36 tooth or 38 tooth? Can it be changed without upsetting anything else on the bike? Does it have cable ports for non AXS? I really feel like this system is boxing people into a proprietary hole..

I think this has made my front tyre choice for bike park season pretty easy. I finally tested the Magic Mary Radial Gravity Ultra Soft against the Assegai DoubleDown MaxxGrip. The Mary was much smoother in the rough, had huge braking confidence, and came out 2.86 seconds quicker in my 15-run comparison. What surprised me most is that I do not think it gives anything away in rolling speed either. It was already edging ahead on the smoother, flatter opening section before grip really became a factor. It is going straight onto my DH bike for the season. I just...

As someone who grew up in Sweden during the 80s, I am forever scarred by the belt-driven CVT in the Volvo 343. It would stand in stark contrast to those performance cars you mention building, I can think of no other man-made object that is as capable of annihilating any power the motor makes before it would get anywhere near the actual wheels. 😂 Rubber band car doesn't even begin to describe it, it only knew one RPM setting which was wwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa and you going NOWHERE.
