Red Bull TV was the most spoilingest app of all time. For replays, I’d have a family member navigate to where I wanted to go, with my back to the tv. Whatever the fuck we’re using now is much better in that respect. Where is it again?
You do realize the timing was working fine, just not visible on your screen? Again it's Crankworx, didn't matter.
I have a feeling a lot of fans would be perfectly happy to go back to a great app + free + Warner even with the issues you list, instead of dealing with this mess.

Redbull and Freecaster were better for two reasons:
1. I knew how and where i was going to watch a race, no matter where I was, every single season.
2. Rob. And not just Rob, but the money Redbull pumped into him to have him learn to go from stealing Cedric;s beers in the Freecaster booth, to someone who could announce an F1 race if they needed him to. No matter his co-announcer, save for Elliot who's been a perfect match up so far, he became the official voice during Hill's Val De Sol disaster in 08 and that built up over the years as Redbull trained him. And Warner haven't matched it just yet, because they don't have the depth unless Aaron's in the booth. Rob's been racing, watching or announcing Downhill for 30 years and that just doesn't exist anywhere else.
Not everyone who watches World Cups speaks English or wants to listen to English language commentary.
Rob is amazing . Claudio never was. Elliot is much better.
Well aware the timing was working fine. But it working on screen for those watching a live broadcast is FUNDAMENTAL to the experience. My point being that in two years of WBD broadcast we have never had those sorts of issues that seem very common on RBTV feeds.
I imagine both will be able to race round one.
I can't cast RedBull TV from my phone to the chromecast plugged into my big old TV anymore. If there's a competition between Max and RB to enshittify their apps, RedBull are winning by a good margin by removing that option.
I watched Crankworx on Chromecast this weekend and I can still cast stuff from RBTV without issue (checked just now), not sure why it's not working for you, maybe a problem with Chromecast?
Casting from an android device to a first generation Chromecast. Every other app that has casting possibilities works just fine.

Listening to this podcast with Ed Masters right now. There is some really good insight into the new UCI changes are affecting DH.
Was great watching the level of Kiwi juniors at the Crankworx downhill. There is a large group of girls and guys coming through the ranks. Tyler Waite was fastest overall in seeding and he had to do two b lines as the UCI wouldn’t allow juniors to do the A lines. The b lines where a whole lot slower possibly 4-6seconds slower due to speed run out speed and difficulty getting into and out of lines. In the final he was third overall and he would probably would have taken the elite top time if he did the A lines. I can’t wait to see Tyler,Asa ,Max and Till this year and watch them in elite in 2026 . What an exciting group of riders about to hit the elite ranks on pace.
That's weird. I know that U15 riders have to take chicken lines at many races, but I've never heard of that rule being used for the U19 category.
The new course has a couple features that are much larger than your typical Dh course. They had required go arounds for the juniors at the new Whistler track as well.
Honestly i like the direction. Allows them to build bigger for the elites Without increasing risks for the less advanced juniors.

These injuries just go to show why World Cup capping teams and keeping privateers out sucketh.
The sport nukes it's riders & attrition gives unknowns opportunity. Unless you're WBD.

Who knows whether this will work, but I applaud the creativity of this and trying to do something to address some of the monetary issues rather than just complaining about them.
Re all of the comments on the Rumor thread re buying a membership and immediately saving a huge amount via the discount: have you guys never had a credit card with a crappy rewards program or been part of something like expertvoice? Pretty sure EXT's entire catalog isn't going be there for taking. I'd have to think they're going to put a ton of conditions and restrictions on this aspect of things - and that's totally fair.
How does it work after year 1? Does the discount amount t increase?
Seems a short term solution to a longterm issue, if they plan to be involved longterm
To me would make more sense to look for actual non industry sponsor rather than a handful of well off riders who may contribute a hundred bucks for a year.
There isn't going to be significant nonindustry sponsorship until there's enough viewership to create economic value for those sponsors. In a lot of ways, professional mountain bike racing is just a really large, well-organized office pool within the bike industry. A single team cannot change that.
But an "inside look" is something the team has control over and can try to monetize. Not really any different than what Moir and others are doing on YouTube - just a slightly different compensation model.
I'm not saying it's going to work or that it's the best answer, but I'll always applaud an effort to creatively solve a problem rather than just complain about rider pay and such like there's some god given right to get paid for being really good at riding a bike.
Joe Breedan is answering questions in the comments about this on the other site. It seems from what he's saying that there aren't any restrictions and the discounts will apply if you're in a listed country. Really good deal for anyone with a high end build going on, after paying the subscription for 6 months you could save around $900 on RRP just on suspension alone.
That's really interesting. Thanks for correcting me, although I'm still a little skeptical it will actually be as good as it sounds. When something sounds too good to be true . . .. But maybe there's enough excess inventory floating around that, at least in the short-term, it really could be as good as it sounds.
The discount angle might be a really good topic for the going out of business thread. Maybe we could get some insight from some of the insiders on here who actually know that they're talking about.

Moi Moi 2025 Bike Check! It's pretty rad that he doesn't dodge why he's no longer running SRAM brakes/RockShox suspension.
Ugh, the podium photo from DHSE #2 makes me wish we had already put out our 2025 roster presser. I promise there's a good reason! The spoilers are definitely there in the photo. It's coming soon!
EDIT - Yeah this should be in '25 team rumors, but the context in race talk, apologies!
