As per the new World Cup rules, top riders will have permanent numbers (and colors apparently). Let's keep up with them here, starting with what appears to be Andreas Kolb locking in #66

#11 - Reece Wilson

#17 - Jordan Williams

#29 - Loic Bruni

#66 - Andreas Kolb

#99 - Finn Iles

Official statement about the #'s from the UCI press release.

In addition to changes to the teams’ hierarchy and qualifying systems, the 2025 reform will also see alterations to how riders and teams present themselves, with the aim of aiding fan engagement.

All former Elite winners of a UCI World Cup round (in Cross-country Olympic or Downhill) who are still competing, will be required to select personal colours and a unique career number adding individuality and a sense of legacy to the competition on top of helping build rider identities and bringing fans closer to the sport.

Number 1 will be exclusively reserved for the current leader of the UCI World Cup standings for each of the two formats, superseding their unique career number. The leader’s jersey and number 1 plate will be awarded on the podium after each UCI World Cup.

Based of who’s won a World Cup and has a number related to them in some way (instagram stalking)

I think theses could be right ahaha only a prediction tho

Bruni - 10/29, Pierron - 4, Kolb - 66, Greenland - 95, Macdonald - 5, Wilson - 39, Williams - 17

There’s a few more riders with wins but no clear or obvious number - most of the above are from ig usernames or just from knowledge of the riders

Im assuming Tahnée will pick 57.

My question is what happens to the riders who haven't won a world cup? Do they also get a season-long number plate or is it based on UCI points?

I made a new column in the Team Rumors sheet for rider number rumors. Same expectations about editing apply: please only edit if you have a basis for the change (iffy rumors are ok though), no blind guessing please.

Numbers are hard to get atm, no one has clearly got a number in the name or bio or even a tag like #TS57, guessing game I suppose

Not sure if allowed since I guess he's not eligible yet, but Asa always repping the Dale Earnhardt #3 goes pretty hard.

But seriously folks, randomly guessing 12 for Finn after Jarome Iginla - legendary former captain of Finn's beloved Calgary Flames

Kolb really missed an opportunity with #47.

Any rider metal enough to rock the #13 (right side up) gets permanent placement on my fantasy team.

The 00 was probably a Hellfare jersey.

It's any gravity event, enduro or DH winner that get to pick a number

Well, Sam Hill has some connection to the 13 number, his IG handle is @samhill13 and his recent glove colab with Fist also has the number 13 (he calls it his lucky number)...

The real question is if he will ever get back to WCDH which I think is doubtful (although he never "officially" retired).

Small correction, I just checked roots and rain and Hill's last win was 2014 not 2017

Im assuming Tahnée will pick 57.

My question is what happens to the riders who haven't won a world cup? Do they also get a season-long number plate or is it based on UCI points?

the B Praccy boys brought up a good point in the latest podcast.. how are we going to distinguish a designated number selection, versus the (for example) the 15th ranked UCI rider?

Color would be my guess.

Even with color its going to be difficult. IIRC the UCI/WB said the rider can choose their color, which is even more confusing.

Not sure how they do it in other sports, F1, Motocross, Nascar, but i'd like to see riders who haven't won a WC at least keep a number for the year.

Would Career Numbers make more sense?  Be kinda a shame to have a number rider combo for X years in a row and then due to having a bad season or injury someone "steels" your number for the next season.  Tahnee's 57 gets snagged due to a bad season would be a bummer!

I believe previous world cup winners WILL have career numbers. So they can keep them presumably until they officially declare that they are retired.

Troy Brosnan is running a #8 jersey at Hardline. Odds on that's his plate number for the World Cup season.

I think Troy was #8 for most of last year, so it could be he hasn't gotten his new kit for the year with his career number.
